Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: August 2010

Whitney Port attended two events recently wearing Camilla and Marc looks paired with Jimmy Choo heels.

At yesterdays “Kiss For a Cause” event held at Sephora in Hollywood she wore a white Camilla and Marc ‘Dawning frock”.

Her cute dress with ruffled details was paired with khaki Jimmy Choo ‘Jenna’ heels.

Love the dress, but not sold on the hair and make-up.

On Wednesday she attended the Dior Luncheon in LA wearing another Camilla and Marc look.

The look included a Heroe jacket and a Maeve skirt.

This is a sophisticated look for ‘The City’ star. It’s not often we get to see her looking so glam.

I really love the hair and make-up which were done by Dior Beauty. She should channel this look more often.

She certainly was dressed to impress.

Jimmy Choo Quinze booties complete the look.

I see Camilla and Marc, Jimmy Choo but no Whitney Eve.

My intention was to do wish lists for all the female nominees attending the 2010 Emmy Awards this weekend, but it a huge task so I give my highest respect to all those stylists who are doing it for real this weekend.

January Jones is nominated in the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series” category.

I would like her to have more fun on the red carpet. She kinda went all serious after the Emmy’s last year, so my wish is for her to wear this pink tiered Christian Dior Resort 2011 strapless dress with a sleek updo.

Lea Michele is nominated in the “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series” category.

She’s toned down the ‘try hard’ for the last few red carpet outings, so I would love for that to continue in this gorgeous butterscotch J. Mendel Resort 2011 one shoulder gown.

Christina Hendricks is nominated in the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” category.

It took me a while to decide what to pick for Christina. I wanted something to show off her curves, but not be all about the twins. I think this Badgley Mischka Resort 2011 gown provides the perfect balance.

Jane Lynch is nominated “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” category.

She hasn’t managed to find a red carpet look that has wowed us yet and I hope she does on Sunday night.

Her Creative Arts Emmys gown did her no favours, so I say stick to something classic, beautiful minimal with no fuss.

I think this navy Donna Karan Resort 2011 ensemble may seem informal but I love the colour and the flattering draping.

Have you made wish list?

Ahhh…redemption has never looked so good.

For a promotional event earlier this week Maria Sharapova was forced to don a creepy baby tee.

I said that she was easily the worst dressed of the week, but 2 days later at her Cole Haan Fall 2010 Collection Launch in New York City she’s managed to totally redeem herself.

The tennis star opted for a Suno Fall 2010 patterned dress with 3/4 length sleeves.

I can’t wait to go do New York to see more of this collection which already has a huge celebrity following after showing for only 4 seasons.

I would have preferred brighter coloured accessories, but she was showcasing her own Fall line, and I don’t want to take anything away from her much improved look.

At the Sydney Town Hall in Australia this week, Kate Waterhouse attended Marie Claire’s gala opening catwalk show for Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival.

Kate has impeccable style, she’s proved that during the Emirates Melbourne Cup Day and she does again at this event.

I love everything about her nude Alex Perry Spring 2010 dress from the way it’s sculptured around the neckline to the asymmetrical hemline and the subtle shoulder pads.

She let her dress do all the talking by just adding nude heels.

I adore this look and think it’s BDOTW worthy, but I really wish she had worn her hair up.

Thanks to Pavement Frippery for the dress ID.

Here we see Jessica Alba on yet another photo shoot, just 2 weeks after her Elle US photo shoot with the adorable Joe Zee.

She was spotted wearing one of the black mini dresses with metal floral appliqués on the shoulder straps from Miuccia Prada’s critically adored collection.

You’ll be pleased to see that she’s not wearing those pants with the flare which so many of you objected to on Kelly Chen.

These Miu Miu dresses have caused a quite a commotion because they’ve appeared on so many covers from Elle UK, to W magazine, to Vogue UK, to Elle Sweden to the October 2010 edition of Vogue Australia.

People have said that the person who loaned out the dresses should have been fired for sending out the same dresses to so many competing publications.

I personally think he/she deserves a raise for their PR genius.
