Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: July 2010

Yesterday Christopher Bailey the creative director for Burberry hosted a good old English tea party in LA to celebrate the launch of Burberry Beauty – the new make-up line for the British fashion brand.

One of his favourite belles Kate Bosworth attended the party looking scrumptious wearing a Burberry Prorsum lace dress from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

It’s a lady-like dress with a sultry silhouette.

I much prefer her nude shift dress overlaid with ruched floral lace, as you can fully appreciated details.

The dress needed a belt, but I would’ve preferred one that didn’t tie like hers with the end poking out. A clasp belt would’ve been more elegant I think.

Claire Danes wore the black version to the Elle Style Awards earlier this year.

The Mulberry Neely tote is the newest celebrities must have.

The chic and sophisticated Neely is a modern tote for busy girls-about-town.

The Fall 2010 bag is named after the lead character in “Valley of the Dolls” and will be available in a number of colours and fabrics.

It works well on duty as demonstrated by Olivia Palermo and off-duty as shown by Michelle Trachtenberg, Fearne Cotton and Blake Lively on the ‘Gossip Girl’ set.

With the ‘Alexa’ Mulberry bag selling out the moment it goes on shelves, will it’s sister bag become a big hit too?

Leighton Meester was also on the Gossip Girl set yesterday in New York City.

She was wearing a Gucci Pre-Fall 2010 dress, which I’m not particularly fond of which is strange considering my love for animal prints.

I don’t like the buckle on the front, nor do I like the colour on Leighton.

I also dislike it because it’s not a very Blair-esqe look.

For some reason the Gucci Pre-Fall 2010 collection doesn’t appear on Style.com, but you can see it on Style.it.

I much preferred Leighton’s second look.

It’s much cutier and more like Blair.

The contrasting floral prints makes this look really interesting.

Her floral halter is from the Erdem Spring 2010 collection, which she pairs with an I HEART Ronson floral print skirt by Charlotte Ronson.

Electric blue bow front heels and a Nancy Gonzalez bag complete the look.

This week Marion Cotillard was a guest on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”.

She was there to promote her new movie “Inception”, which was released on Tuesday in the US and will be out on Friday here in the UK.

The banter between the two was hilarious. She seems really relaxed as Craig poke fun at her.

The French actress wore a beautiful black Vionnet Resort 2011 dress which has nude, fuchsia and white panels.

It’s one of her best look so far this promotional tour.

It may not have been so great on the red carpet, but it’s perfect for her TV appearance.
