Basil Soda’s Fall 2010 presentation was a rich collection of draped bustier cocktail dresses and gowns which were inspired by the Phoenicians.
Some looks were decorated with either gold leaf embroidery, but it was those decorated with zippers which stood out.
Dresses and gowns got the zipper treatment helping to add a touch of modernity to this collection.
We also saw these touches on the models ankle boots and structured vests which were paired with cigarette pants.
The designer favoured mostly neutral colours with the addition of black, fuschia pink and ocean blue.
The gowns, which will have celebrity fan Emily Blunt going weak at the knees, had a structured yet feminine silhouette.
I can see the cocktail dresses being worn by the likes of Carrie Underwood and Julianne Hough, who seem to be preferring shorter hemlines for their red carpet appearances.

The bride was as elegant as you would expect with touches of silver crystals on the bodice and exaggerated hips.
