Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: June 2010

I’m not sure why but the pictures of Claire Danes arriving at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Shanghai Film Festival only popped up on a picture agency yesterday, a week after the event.

Despite it being a week late, I just had to bring you this look as Claire looks so divine wearing this colourful Zac Posen Spring 2010 dress.

Claire can be very one-tone on the red carpet, but for some reason Zac brings out her colourful side.

The off-the-shoulder dress has a glorious colourful print of flowers and stars. I just love the purple and pink with a hint of aqua.

Her partner Hugh Dancy must have been a very proud man walking the red carpet with his stunning wife.

Here are the rest of the look from the 2010 BET Awards.

LaLa Vazquez opted for a black long sleeved sequin dress with black suede pumps.  Like Ciara she must have been sweating all the way down this red carpet.

Melody Thornton opted for silver and black striped dress which is probably from Bebe because it’s a totally Balmain Fall 2009 knock off.

Vivica A Fox wore the same Zuhair Murad Spring 2010 dress which we saw on the red carpet last week at Twilight premiere worn by Elizabeth Reaser.

Taraji P. Henson wore an ice Mandalay asymmetrical ruched cocktail dress.  She was one of the few not to wear long sleeves.

Now that Rihanna is no longer sporting her blonde ‘do, Keri Hilson has decided to take on the look.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but I think shows how Keri lacks originality.

She also sports a long sleeved dress like so many on this red carpet, but her vintage Bill Blass dress had a cheetah print.

Jada Pinkett-Smith showed off her legs wearing a onesie.

I admire her bravery.  I would never leave the house looking like this, no matter how fashionable it was.

WNBA player Lisa Leslie wore a Stella McCartney Spring 2010 dress, whilst Brandy looked stunning wearing a textured grey dress with embellished Sergio Rossi heels.

Better On The Runway Award
Nikki Minaj tried to go for an ethereal look on the red carpet at the 2010 BET Awards.

It was never going to work with that Wilma Flintstone hair colour.

The singer wore an ecru tulle Rochas by Olivier Theyskens archival gown from the Spring 2004 collection.

Her gown has been modified from a lingerie bustier to a halter and she added a large statement necklace to her look.

She tried to modify the look to suit her style, but in the process ruined a classic gown.

Best Dressed Award
Cassie was my best dressed at the 2010 BET Awards, and I don’t expect this to be a popular choice.

I love the cool summer neutral colour, the fact that she dared to bare her midriff on a hot summers day when everyone else was wearing long sleeves and Fall 2010 looks.

This is everything a Summer look at a music awards ceremony should be.

Her Givenchy shoes a bit too bulky, but at least they’re not black ;)

Most Graphic Award
Sporting her trademark cropped hairstyle, Nia Long would’ve stood out on the red carpet at the 2010 BET Awards.

The actress opted for a Gucci Spring 2010 ikat dress.

The strapless dress was accented with silver harness details around the waist, as she paired her dress with a studded clutch and those darn YSL Trib Two heels.

This is such a cute look, but I really would’ve preferred the runway heels with this look and maybe an orange clutch.

The Tyra Banks “Fierce” Award
Ciara looked amazing at the 2010 BET Awards which was held on a hot summers day in LA.

Her Balmain brocade dress from the Fall 2010 collection was detailed with gold fringing plus leather and gold metal chains.

She opted to wear a different belt from the runway, which I prefer.

Ciara was also one of the best dressed at this event, but I’m getting hot just looking at her in this long sleeve heavily textured dress.

She totally event appropriate and looks fierce in this dress.

I really can’t fault her, she could’ve found something equally fierce from a Spring collection surely.

Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain cuff lace up booties complete the look.

What do you think?

Hot or too hot?
