Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: June 2010

Within a week Emma Bunton and Salma Hayek have both worn this Alexander McQueen angular-shouldered dress from the Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

Emma wore it last week to the “Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards” in London.

The TV presenter wore her dress with black patent pumps and a simple silver bracelet.

Salma Hayek wore the same dress yesterday when she arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York for an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” to promote her newest film “Grown Ups”.

If I was Salma I would be too busy trying on everything in the Gucci Group closet, but it’s great to see she’s still focused on her acting career.

The Mexican actress looked flawless wearing her McQueen dress with nude pumps.

Salma wins on two counts.

Firstly she wore better footwear and I also prefer how her dress drapes on her hips. Not sure what’s going on with Emma’s hemline.

After being so excited about Kristen Stewart’s Versace look last week, I feel really underwhelmed by both her looks whilst promoting “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” yesterday in Stockholm, Sweden.

For her first look during a photocall, she wore an Oscar de la Renta Fall 2010 dress, which makes Kristen look a little boxy.

She’s not curvy, so something waist defining would’ve been preferred.

Even though her gold textured lamé embroidered dress has been shortened to give it a youthful edge, I still don’t think Kristen pulls it off.

Maybe it’s the hair.

Had she styled it into an updo or a ponytail maybe it would’ve have worked better for me.

Gunmetal Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ pumps complete the look.

Kristen’s second look for a “Twilight” fan event was a Zac Posen Fall 2010 mini strapless.

I love the print on this dress and the detail on the neckline, but it’s hard to tell if this is just a bad picture or if Kristen’s incredibly uncomfortable in this dress.

Black satin Brian Atwood ‘Summer’ pumps complete the look.

Nice efforts, but I’m not excited nor blown away.

The Net-A-Porter International sale started yesterday, but they are still updating their virtual shelves with new looks twice a week.

Yesterday they added the RM by Roland Mouret black dress we saw on Naomi Watts when she walked the red carpet at the “Biutiful” Premiere during Cannes Film Festival.

They’ve also added the Alice + Olivia Tessa asymmetrical dress which America Ferrera wore last week to the “The Illusionist” Premiere during 2010 Edinburgh Film Festival, and the Herve Leger patchwork dress which Leighton Meester wore to a Herbal Essences promotional tour in Madrid back in May.

The X Factor auditions came to London yesterday, and as always all eyes were on Cheryl Cole who was fresh from her romantic Tanzania vacation with her rumoured boyfriend Derek Hough.

The judge and pop princess looked adorable wearing a red Versus Versus pleated georgette dress which was presented by Christopher Kane during the Versus Fall 2010 with Donatella Versace.

Cheryl’s dress with straps details on the shoulders appears to be much lighter and more Spring-like as it doesn’t have the velvet panel.

As much as I love her dress, I’m also very much drooling over her Christian Louboutin Bikini 140 pony pumps.

As always I get giddy with excitement every time the X Factor comes around.
