Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2010

Last night Giorgio Armani hosted a cocktail party on board his boat to honor the extraordinary work of the cast and crew of the upcoming Doug Liman-directed thriller “Fair Game.”

I was giddily excited to see Julia Restoin-Roitfeld wearing an Emilio de la Morena dress from the Fall 2010 collection.

I’m a huge fan the Spanish designer – like Leighton Meester – so always wish to see more of his work on the red carpet.

This dress is spectacular, from the mix of colours to the draped front to the leather skirt with the laser cut-outs.

Thankfully her shoes blend into the tarmac.

Carine Roitfeld also attended wearing her favourite French label – Balmain.

She opted for a modified dress from the Fall 2010 collection.

I say modified, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they custom-made this dress for Carine because not only is the dress longer, but it has an asymmetrical hem and the shoulders are smoothed out to make the dress more chic, more Carine.

Carine wore her Balmain dress with Azzedine Alaia lace up sandals which she has wears religious.

The first time I noticed them was during 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

You may remember the that lovely Zoe Saldana wore the runway version to “The Losers” LA premiere last month.

Between judging, Kate Beckinsale has been attending many events during Cannes Film Festival.

This week she attended the Chanel-Madame Figaro Party wearing a Chanel Fall 2009 black jumpsuit.

Out of this 73 piece collection probably only 2 or 3 looks would’ve suited Kate, but as always she picked the best look to suit her girlie style.

I love her modified chiffon frilly cap sleeves, but I prefer the double bow on the runway.

Kate’s hair had been pulled back for most events with the IL Gattopardo premiere being the only exception, so it’s nice to see her hair loose natural and wavy here.

Stunningly gorgeous as always with her look paired with Ferragamo heels.

Kate Moss was joined by Daisy Lowe, Alexandra Burke and Anna Wintour for the launch party of the new Topshop store in Knightsbridge, London yesterday.

I’m loving Kate’s look, especially her hair which has a lot of body to it for a change.

She’s wearing her own Topshop ultimate silk blazer, which I’m going to purchase the second I finish this post.

Thanks to InStyle_Pat who has informed me that Kate is also wearing her Topshop silk button back playsuit backwards.

First Angelina, then Amanda Seyfried now Kate. Backwards is the new forwards.

Daisy’s Topshop maxi dress is the perfect look for summer.

Alexandra Burke also has me reaching for my credit card to purchase her gorgeous Topshop Lotus bead tiered shift dress.

Whilst Anna is the surprise guest.

I never had her down as a Topshop fan.

Kate Moss’ new summer collection goes on sale today.

You can view the collection on Topshop International and Topshop US.

Some items – especially the maxi’s are already selling out.

This is a rare treat to see Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis on the red carpet together.

They attended a party during Cannes Film Festival this week which was held in Vanessa’s honour by Chanel and Madame Figaro, with her favourite singer Patti Smith performing on the night.

Vanessa wore a multi coloured shimmering Chanel Resort 2010 halter dress which draped around her waist.

As much as I love her effortless style, I’m not crazy about her heels.

I would’ve preferred something more dainty and anonymous – like on the runway – as my eyes are constantly drawn to her heels when I want to focus on the dress.

I do however love her Chanel clutch and her arm candy.
