Red Carpet Fashion Awards

On Wednesday night President Obama and Michelle Obama welcomed the President of Mexico Felip Calderon and his wife to a State Dinner at the White House.

My first reaction was that I really didn’t like the overly glam look, but on reflection I think it was a very bold move as she would’ve known jaws were dropping all over the world.

Her blue & silver asymmetrical Peter Soronen gown is lovely, even though with the shimmer and the diamante belt I’m thinking more ‘Sex And The City’ than State Dinner.

The curly hair does seem a bit too fluffy for a formal event, but she’s at home so why not glam up for her guests.

What do you think of the glammed up Mrs O?

Nicole Kidman attended an opening ceremony for an Omega store in Hong Kong yesterday.

During her first visit to the city, Nicole unveiled the limited edition Constellation timepiece in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Australian actress wore a dark blue Nina Ricci dress with a ruched detail on the shoulders.

Nude Pierre Hardy sandals were paired with her dress.

Nicole wore the same sandals when she attended another Omega event in Hong Kong later on the same day.

This v-neck Nina Ricci black silk dress was less formal as she showed off Tia and Tamera.

I love her red lips with both looks, but I would’ve loved a different hairstyle with one of the looks.

When I saw Mischa Barton wearing this Marchesa Fall 2010 dress at the “Artists for Peace and Justice Party” in Cannes last night, I heard a crashing sound in my head.

That was the sound of my dreams being shattered.

This was my favourite dress from the Marchesa Fall 2010 collection because the embroidered cream duchess satin carousel cocktail dress was so beautiful and different from anything Marchesa had presented before.

I had hoped to see this stunning dress worn by Camilla Belle, Emmy Rossum or Leighton Meester (notice they are all brunettes), but that may never be realised now.

I gave Mischa a pass yesterday, but she gets an almighty fail today.

How can something so beautiful and delicate be made to look so very bad?

Without a hint of exaggeration, I’m devastated.
