Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2010

As I said earlier Juliette Binoche hasn’t had a great time on the red carpet during Cannes Film Festival.

I think that’s because she’s tried to work really complicated looks.

Tonight for the Palme d’Or Award Closing Ceremony she kept things very simple.

The end result was a clean, chic, uncomplicated look which would’ve got both thumbs up had she opted to wear her white strapless column dress without the necklace.

I don’t like the silver snake necklace with the bronze belt.

Salma Hayek has looked consistently gorgeous during Cannes Film Festival.

She looked breath-taking when she sauntered down the red carpet at the Palme d’Or Award Closing Ceremony during Cannes Film Festival.

Her Gucci Première blush pink strapless gown was embellished with gold bulge beads and draped from the waist.

Her first Gucci gown was my favourite, but this comes a very close second as the lighter colour allows her skin to glow.

A gold fringed wrap around Boucheron Delilah necklace and a gold trimmed clutch complete this stunning look.

Kirsten Dunst arrived at the Palme d’Or Award Closing Ceremony during Cannes Film Festival wearing a turquoise Chanel Resort 2011 dress.

I loved this dress on the runway, but it feels so ordinary on the red carpet.

It has no magic, no wow factor.

It’s a press conference or TV show dress at best.

I love how she styled her hair, but I was fond of the embellished snow flake shaped hair accessory.

Nude crystal embellished heels completed her look.

Apart from Maggie Gyllenhaal, no one has really got me excited about the Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 collection off the runway.

Milla Jovovich tried at the “The Exodus – Burnt By The Sun” Premiere during Cannes Film Festival yesterday, but I really disliked the dress on her.

She’s totally lifeless in this dress, which is quite usual for her.

If this was a supermodel show down, Elle Macpherson would win hands down, despite Milla being more of a high fashion model than Elle.

If there was one person I could’ve relied on to add some personality to this Louis Vuitton tweed dress it was Milla.

Sergio Rossi blush satin platform slingbacks complete the look.

I think the other problem is that I really dislike the back.

Juliette Binoche attended the “Style Style Party” during Cannes Film Festival this weekend.

I’ve tried to find one positive from her Nina Ricci Fall 2010 silver dress, but I’ve failed to come up with one.

The dress does flatter her at all.

From the shape to the colour which washes her out.

I’m not who like black dresses on the red carpet, but I think this look may have worked better for her if it was black with the pink rose.

Juliette is having a terrible Film Festival fashion-wise. Not one single look has worked for her.
