Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: May 2010

Kristin Davis was my favourite on the red carpet for the New York Premiere of “Sex And the City 2″ tonight.

She opted for another stunning vintage couture gown from Decades Inc.

Her Jean Desses silk chiffon pink gown was a show stopper.

The strapless gown has diagonally ruched detail which are lost in her picture because of the photographers flash, but you appreciated those detail via the picture from Decades boutique.

I love the draped detail from waist, it’s the perfect finish touch to such an vibrant piece.

This 1950s dress has been brought into 2010 with some stunning accessories including Fred Leighton jewels, a Judith Leiber and Christian Louboutin heels.

Love, love…Best Dressed Of The Week candidate love.

In true Carrie Bradshaw style Sarah Jessica Parker wasn’t predictable in her red carpet choice tonight at the “Sex And The City 2″ movie premiere.

I predicted Halston, others picked Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta and McQueen but the lead actress opted for Valentino.

The gown didn’t have the princess element of the previous New York premiere.

This time she opted for a sexy asymmetrical Valentino Spring 2010 yellow fluorescent chiffon gown.

I’m loving the blonder hair, but I hate the shoes.

I’m so over heavy pumps with beautiful delicate dresses. It’s becoming a real bug-bear of mine.

My heart sank when saw her silver satin Ferragamo double platform pumps.

They are the same pumps Kate Beckinsale wore to the Chopard Party during Cannes. I didn’t like them then and I don’t like them now.

For a girl who plays a girl who loves her strappy sandals, I feel a bit let down by her shoe choice.

Most of us would’ve bet that Cynthia Nixon would wear Calvin Klein on the red carpet at the “Sex & the City 2″ movie premiere tonight.

Her look was still minimalist and chic, but she opted for Carolina Herrera.

The now strawberry blonde star really made a huge effort to look glam on her big night.

I love the sassy ruffled on the back of her black strapless dress plus the silver crystal leaf embellishment on the bust.

A sparkling clutch and diamond drop earrings complete the look.

I love this look. It fits like a glove.

The “Sex & the City 2 movie had it’s first premiere tonight in New York City.

Kim Cattrall was the first hit the red carpet at Radio City Music Hall.

She looked stunning wearing a Naeem Khan gold sleeveless V-front and back empire waist gown.

The gold gown has a beautiful sunflower embroidery which shimmers on the red carpet.

I love how she’s given us Old Hollywood with marcel waves which looks so very elegant.

Her jewels are kept to a minimum, but she added a small floral tapestry bag to her look along with fire engine red lips.

I really love this look.

Top 10 Dresses
If you had to force me to pick my favourite look from Cannes Film Festival it would be hard as I loved each look above, but I would eventually have to pick Eva Longoria.

In her case it wasn’t all about the dress. It was the attitude and the accessories. She had the whole package.

My runner up would be Salma followed by the late entry Penelope Cruz.

Who was your favourite?

Cannes Brand Ambassador – Salma Hayek
A few weeks ago Jeremy crowned Salma Hayek the “First Lady Of Fashion” and she surely lived up to that title during Cannes Film Festival.

She gave us our first taste of the Gucci Première collection, then she continued to proudly wave the Gucci flag over the 12 day festival.

Salma maintained her sexy edge in a more chic less revealing way.

She was the perfect brand ambassador.

Couturier of 2010 Cannes Film Festival – Gucci Première
Gucci Première dominated the red carpet at Cannes.

Nearly every red carpet event seemed to have a new stunning look for us to marvel.

Frida Giannini used the perfect platform to debut her first couture collection.

2010 Cannes Film Festival Most Worn Designer – Chanel
If you take away the Gucci Première collection Chanel also dressed many stars during Cannes, from Rachel Bilson, to Vanessa Paradis to supermodel Karolina Kurkova.

Chanel may be one of the oldest fashion houses, but it attracted young red carpet stars.

Red Carpet Gold Star
When I look back on 2010 Cannes Film Festival, one person will immediately spring to mind – Fan Bingbing.

The Chinese beauty has incredible sense of style.

We share a love for big gowns and Elie Saab.

She wore his designs three times, but I’m still blown away by her dragon robe look every time I see it.

It’s the first look will remember when putting my Best Dress Of The Year list together come December.

Most Consistent Award
Kate Beckinsale’s fellow female judge Giovanna Mezzogiorno was M.I.A. on the red carpet, but I hardly noticed because Kate was taking up all my attention.

She gave us different looks, different hairstyle, she even tried Balmain which didn’t work for her but everything else she touched turned to gold.
