The 2010 Cannes Film Festival kicks off today.
What does that mean?
Two weeks of – Atelier Versace, Armani Prive and King Elie Saab – red carpet gowns which will hopefully give us some Best Dressed Of The Year contenders.
First exciting news is that Kate Beckinsale has been named as one of the judges.
I hope she has our “No Prom memo”, but it will be interesting to see how many mermaid gowns and updo combo’s she gives us within the two weeks.
Even more exciting news is that “Robin Hood” staring Cate Blanchett (squeals like Giuliana Rancic when she sees Brangelina on the red carpet) will be the first movie premiere today.
The only downside to this is that Cate may set the bar way too high, but hopefully the others – Zoe and Diane I’m looking to you – can try to reach it.
Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, Freida Pinto, Evangeline Lilly, Aishwarya Rai and Elizabeth Banks aka the L’Oreal girls will be tag teaming each other during the event if the 3 at a time rule still applies from last year.
Not only do we have all that to look forward to, but we’ll also see lots of floral prints and bustier gowns at the annual “Dolce & Gabbana Party” and stunning jewels at the “Chopard Party”.
The icing on the cake is the “amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Benefit” which always brings out the best the stars.
I imagine the page will be moving quite quickly, so you may need to go back a few pages to see a whole days worth of red carpet gowns.
Whilst I’m pressing refreshing on my PC waiting for the pictures to come in have a look back at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
