Alexa Chung likes to be different and that was definitely the case on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Gala in New York last night.

Shunning the Blake Lively minis and Anne Hathaway ballgowns, the British TV present opted for a 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2010 pant suit.

I do like how she took a day time look and made it formal with the white shirt and the black ribbon, but I’m far from being wowed by this look.

By not trying so hard, she comes off looking like she did.

I do love the shoes and clutch.
