Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: April 2010

Zoe Saldana continues to spoil us by giving us another perfect 10 on the red carpet at “The Losers” LA premiere last night.

I think we’ll all have serious withdrawal symptoms if she ever disappears from the red carpet, because no one else is knocking it out the ball park, whilst hitting 3 pointers and scoring numerous touchdowns like she is.

In short she is the red carpet MPV – ‘Most Valuable Player’.

I love her.  She can do no wrong.

The actress looked stunning in her black suede Balmain suede dress from the Fall 2010 collection.

The dress has two buckle straps on the right hip, a sexy split and a jagged hemline.

As much as I love the dress, I’m floored by her accessories.

Firstly those Cesare Paciotti booties are to-die-for.

I wonder how many rent payments I would have to skip for those to be mine.

The runway gold studded belt is complemented with a gold Judith Leiber clutch and a stand-out Neil Lane gold ring.

The first serious contender this week to challenge Jennifer Lopez.

Yesterday I attended the press day held by The Communications Store in London.

It was good to see so many talented British designers under one roof.

Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto, Todd Lynn, House of Holland, Richard Nicoll, Amanda Wakeley, Antonio Berardi and Christoper Kane.

The international designers included Versace, Versus, L’Agence, Missoni, RM by Roland Mouret and the king Elie Saab.

What’s new?

Versace have designed a mobile phone with LG. It has so many functions it will make your blackberry or IPhone redundant.

I was informed that the gold trim phone with the trademark Medusa symbol can cost thousands of pounds depending if you want to bedazzle your phone with diamonds.

For the fellas. Roland Mouret will be bringing out a menswear line of 15 looks.

The label is called Mr. by Roland Mouret.

I think it’s clever how the RM has been reversed to MR, but I’m easily impressed.

There are no exposed zipper in this collection, just manly suits, sweaters, pants and jeans.

As I said yesterday I met Christopher Kane at the press day, who designs his own line and Versus.

I asked him how he was coping designing two collections a season. He said it’s challenging, but a lot of fun.

At present he’s skype’ing the Milan office as he can’t be there due to the flight bans in Europe.

Kylie Minogue is papped leaving her home in London every single day.

Every now and then a look will catch my eye like her Chloe dress.

On this occasion I was mesmerized by her peachy Emilio Pucci button-side pants from the Spring 2010 collection.

She was first spotted wearing them last week.

I’m saying to myself that I shouldn’t like them – as I’m not a fan of Harem pants – but I do.

Yesterday she left her home wearing the canary yellow version with the tan gladiator heels from the same collection.

I’m more drawn to the peach than the yellow, but I much prefer the footwear she paired with the yellow pants.

I wonder if Kylie has the full set, as these Emilio Pucci button-side pants also come in white.

Victoria Hesketh aka Little Boots attended the 2009 GQ Men Of The Year Awards at the The Royal Opera House in London back in September wearing a Josh Goot Fall 2009 dress.

Her multi coloured dress was paired with black peep-toes, and an Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch, whilst her hair was styled into an elegant updo.

Keisha Buchanan wore the same dress to the Eun Jeong Fall 2010 presentation at Somerset House during London Fashion Week.

Her shorten dress was paired with black ankle boots.

I much prefer the longer version and Victoria’s shoe choice, so she wins for me.

Still on her promotional trail for “The Backup Plan”, Jennifer Lopez was spotted leaving her New York City hotel on her way to film “Live with Regis & Kelly”.

The actress looked very glam for an early morning show, as she sparkled wearing a beige sequin asymmetrical Lanvin dress which was covered with gold sequin.

I love the cute black bow at waist.

Jennifer accessorized with Lanvin Spring 2010 eggshell patent chain t-strap pumps.

You may remember that Jennifer wore these same shoes recently in Miami.

Lopez Love Lanvin.

The movie hits theaters this Friday. I hope it doesn’t suck.
