22.04.10 Runway To Red Carpet

Carrie Underwood was one of the many performers on last night American Idol’s “Idol Gives Back” event at Pasadena Civic Auditorium in LA.
She looked gorgeous walking the red carpet wearing a black Rafael Cennamo Fall 2010 dress – it was a nice change from cute pastels.
The strapless gold dress with a black embroidered pattern plus a rise and fall hem is a stunning creation, but it looks so much better on the model.
I love the voluminous skirt which takes the dress to the model knee, plus the black band around the model’s waist also helps give the dress more shape.
As gorgeous as Carrie looks, she really dialed down the fabulousity of this dress.
She paired her dress with Jimmy Choo ‘Zena’ sandals and Carla Amorim jewels.
She also performed in this dress singing “Change” from her latest album “Play On”.

Now this is much better from Jessica Simpson.
The singer was spotted at LAX yesterday wearing a Stella McCartney floral dress from the Spring 2010 collection.
She’s not quite shutting it down like the model, but at least she’s wearing a dress which flatters her shape – something she’s hasn’t managed to do in a while.
The look is paired with grey sandals, a grey leather jacket and a white Derek Lam bucket bag.
I love how when the sun comes out everyone turns to Stella McCartney.

On “Project Runway” Season 7 Episode 11, the designers’ challenge was to create a red carpet look for Heidi Klum.
Emilio Sosa would’ve been delighted to see Heidi wearing a his challenge winning design on the red carpet last night at the “The Back-Up Plan” LA Premiere.
The dress was originally presented as a gown, but Heidi showed off her legs in a shorter berry coloured metallic version.
I’m happy that Heidi takes “Project Runway” seriously enough to wear the designer looks on the red carpet.
She’s knows it will be a huge boost to the designers careers, and for that she should be applauded.
Of course she went shorter to show off her toned legs and those beautiful lilac Christian Louboutin Zigounette 140 sandals.
In the battle of the yummy mummies on the red carpet for this premiere Heidi wins for me.
Take a bow Emilio, Heidi looks outstanding.

I didn’t know they were still making Shrek movies anymore, so it was a nice surprise to see Cameron Diaz at the “Shrek Forever After” premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York last night.
Her cast-mates Mike Myers, Antonio Banderas and Eddie Murphy also attended.
At the premiere she wore a black Lanvin dress with peplum and a black elastic belt.
Her Lanvin jewels caught my eye as she wore single-drop crystal Lanvin earrings and a Lanvin bracelet.
The look was completed with nude leather Lanvin pumps with clear stiletto heel, and a black satin Lanvin bag with a tulle & chain strap.
The sun-kissed beauty is still sticking to the grown-up sophisticated Cameron Diaz, but I’m still longing for Cameron D with the shorter hemlines to make an appearance on the red carpet.
No matter how she dresses, she always has that sparkle in her eyes.
This is a great look for her.

We often see Kylie Minogue leaving her home in London head to toe in designer labels (today she’s wearing Preen & Dolce & Gabbana), so her album cover had to be spectular – and it is.
The Australian singer looks like a Greek goddess on the cover of her 11th studio album “Aphrodite”, which will be released in July.
Her flowing dress was of course designed by her friend Jean Paul Gaultier. The dress is from his recent Spring 2010 Couture collection.
With this stunning look on the cover, I can’t wait to see what she will be wearing in her music video’s.
The first single “All The Lovers” is set to be a huge summer anthem as it sees her celebrate her dance-floor roots.
