Clogs clomped their down the runways of Chanel and Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2010 presentations. Those of us who were childs of the 70s and 80s screamed “No, not clogs again.”
For me they weren’t very desirable the first time around, and even with a heel, tassles, buckles and prints I’m still not sold.
From what I remember they were just damn difficult, noisy and painful to walk in, but Uncle Karl and Marc Jacobs are trying to seduce us with clogs this season.

Celebs have already been spotted wearing clogs.
Alexa Chung started the trend back in January at Chanel’s Spring 2010 Couture show in Paris. Most recently Rachel Bilson was the epitome of casual chic wearing a red pair of clogs, whilst a dressed down Ashley Simpson wore a black pair.

both thumbs down -.-”
i’m sorry but i’ll never wear clogs
.. bluntly they look hideous
thumbs way down. clogs are not cute, even if uncle karl or marc jacobs are doing. its not a good look period.
thumbs down, down, down! they are THE most unflattering things i have ever seen. you might as well try walking around with bricks strapped to your feet.
I hate them, they all look awful, no exceptions !
clogs are so boring, but I admit to having worn them in the past! I think the real test of these will be to see if Victoria Beckham wears them– which I severely doubt!
Not with her bunions
the trend to not follow lol! i just hate clogs
i hate clogs…knowing this is back is not a good fashion day for me
Since I’m a 90s child I’m curious about it and want to try a pair, but I’m not so sure I could find ones I like, they’re not so pretty even being Chanel :S
thumbs downdowndowndowndowndown. clogs should NEVER come back.. grrr.
Clogs are not really the shoes I’d wear if I were a woman. lol
They’re not practical at all and I bet very heavy. I honestly do like the Chanel clogs but for magazine and editorial use. Definitely not everyday!
And the Louis Vuitton ones simply make me sick. They’re so ugly. They look like wooden dogs with hair.
Some trends I will never understand…
I have always loved clogs. They are trendy and classy. All those clogs are fabulous.I love to buy a pair of them.
i really hope no one wears these on the red carpet!
God help us if that happens! I do like Rachel Bilson’s look though……
after surgery on my spine i cant wear high heels so clogs is my rescue
i honestly thought thumbs down automatically but then i saw clogs with a wedge and thought that i would maybe wear those! lol
Karl can try, but I’ll never find this to be chic or beautiful.
I’ve LOVED clogs since high school in the early ’80s when everyone wore them. I’ve had a black pair for years…but they don’t have that classic clog look with the light wood heel (you can see them in the shoe picture here: http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2008/02/basic-wardrobe-part-ii/). I’m excited that I have all these options for a new pair now!
I am surprised by all of these comments!! I got my JC’s in black a few weeks back and couldn’t be happier! I thought I would never see the day as it was pretty hard for me to quit clogs in the first place! I don’t think it is a trend either, I think it is a new affirmation of a timeless piece. And FYI everyone, they are comfy, NOT heavy and look good with: shorts, skirts, jeans, tights, short OR long dresses.. so YES! I would say versatile AND timeless!!
HIdeous. Soon they’ll make crocs fashionable. They are THAT much out of ideas.
LOL!
Well said. I don’t like them and I never will.
Down ! Clogs are really ugly and not sexy at all.
And when you were it it makes an awful noise, like an elephant.
i would only follow this trend if i had those gorgeous chanel ones. the louis vuitton ones are absolutely FUGLY!
Uh, they are just ugly IMO. I’ve tried them on once, and they made me feel myself 50 years older. And I hate the noise they’re making!
The red ones almost work, but nope. Thumbs down!
Clogs, bell-bottoms, vests, love beads and ironed hair. I swore I’d never go back there, and I’m sticking to my guns! (Ever fallen off a pair of clogs?)
doooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwnnn!
i hate them other shoes would have been a thousand times better for their outfits…
Thumbs up. I have been wearing clogs for years even while teaching first graders. They look great with boot cut jeans. I would never wear them like they are shown in the pictures. There’s no way that I would put them on with a dress or shorts or anything that shows leg.
I hate clogs as much as I hate thongs, and that’s a lot…(thongs being flip-flops, not g-string
)
lol
I thought you meant g-strings
I think I’ll pass this time around.
im not a clog fan and im still not….so that’s a trend i wont be acknowledge this time around…
Def not jumping onto this bandwagon. Clogs = Crocs now grown up;-)
both thumbs down!
it is a hideous trend.. very unflattering, no matter how hard karl or marc try.
but it kind of looks right on alexa.
I bought a Christian Dior pair in the 90′s that I still have they were so pretty but so uncomfortable to walk in. I will not be buying another pair!
Thumbs down..hideous
I hate them, they all look awful, no exceptions !
they should keep hidden in the baaaaack of the closet, and never come out. never ever!
