Last night I went to Harrods in Knightsbridge, London to view the stunning Atelier Versace gowns on display.
The exact gowns as worn by Charlize Theron (Venice Film Festival, 2008), January Jones (2009 Emmy Awards), Kate Hudson (“Nine” London Premiere 2009), Drew Barrymore (Golden Globes 2010) and Shakira (Whitney Museum Gala 2009) are all on display for 1 week only.
I knew I was going to be blown away, but in person the gowns are even more breath-taking.
I was particularly fascinated by Drew Barrymore’s Atelier Versace one shoulder champagne silk chiffon gown. The gown has a visible nude corset underneath and those two amazing clusters of glass fringes on the shoulder and the hip.
The gowns are on display for customers to order, and for people like me who like to dream of one day walking up the Met Gala steps in a Atelier Versace gown *doesn’t want to wake up from dream*.

I hope your dream would come true because you would look AMAZING in every Atelier Versace dress!
LOVE YOU xxxx
Lovely! Are they for sale?
Yes they are available to order.
I know you will make this dream come true. You deserve it!
Besos, kika
I will keep my fingers crossed. Thanks Kika
OMFG, i would love to be there right now!
i read many fashion-related websites and i can attest to the fact that only you do Donatella Versace justice.you even get me to try to look past her face (still working on it!). so i will say your dream will come true.you’re a good person( i deduce that from the way you run your website) and good things happen to good people.the first step was being lucky enough to see them and the next obvious one will be you in an atelier vesace.
you are very sweet and kind Chrystelle x
I am sooo flying to London this weekend to steal those gowns! Who wants to drive the get away car?
I have a quick question FC, are there some celebs who actually get to keep the gowns or do they all give them back? I ask since I assume some celebs can afford them but it’s also obvious that some are just loaned. Is this the case with every couture gown, are they always given back?
Do you also know what the ballpoint price tag on one of these gowns would be?
I would imagine it differs from celeb to celeb and designer to designer. Who really knows?
Wishing I was in London after reading this….thks for sharing your dreamy visit to Harrods F.C.!
Drew’s dress brought a lot of criticism when she wore it, but I was fascinated by the glass fringe trim right away. I’m so jealous that you got to see it up close! And I will keep my fingers crossed that your dream comes true.
Must have been a wonderful night.
still floating
Does someone know what kind of detailing has in the bodice the dress in the middle ? the one that Kate Hudson wore to the “Nine” premiere?
I believe it was made out of layers. Some with white leather with silver embroidery, another with the silver alone and linked together with some little metal bolts. It’s quite magnificent.
A taylor told me it was a special fabric that looks like lace, it is called “wipiur” in spanish (don’t know if it’s a french word though). Quite expensive I must say, but I also thought the dress had some kind of metal applications.
Um, Interesting.
Here is good picture of it, and you can kind of get a better idea on it
