Net-A-Porter.com Introduce Carven

Last night I was invited by Net-A-Porter to meet Guillaume Henry of Carven.

Carven has recently been added to Net-A-Porter’s US and Net-A-Porter’s International list of designers.

Guillaume was really touched when Natalie Massenet – the founder of Net-A-Porter – introduced him as talented designer who deserves more recognition for his work. She also liken him to a young Monsieur Laurent.

Natalie had fallen in love with his designs after visiting his showroom during Spring 2010 Fashion Week and 6 months later his top pieces are close to selling out on Net-A-Porter.

The jewel in Guillaume crown is definitely the Carven ruffle-skirt taffeta dress which Natalie wore last night paired with biker boots.

“Inglourious Basterds” actress Mélanie Laurent as also fallen in love with Carven.

When I asked Guillaume about other celebrities he told me that Rihanna had purchased several pieces, but that there is no hard sell. He shared “I would love for celebrities to discover Carven naturally.”

Carven is for all types of women. “It’s very chic, sophisticated but totally unpretentious”.

I was just looking at the Fall collection, too. Very interesting. Pieces seem to be structured enough to be exciting, yet simple enough so they can act like basics and paired with colorful and/or statement pieces. I love the skirt and shoes. Talking about black pumps that are not boring.
