2010 Tribeca Film Festival Party – Jessica Alba In Proenza Schouler

Jessica Alba looked gorgeous on the red carpet at the “2010 Tribeca Film Festival Party” held in LA last night.

She wore a Proenza Schouler reptile print mini dress with a mix of fun, colourful flirtatiousness which I simply adore.

I also loved the cowl back and her Proenza Schouler heels which left me breathless.

Well worth blowing a months rent me thinks.

Gold accessories from Eddie Borgo completed the look.

If you look at the close up below, you can see that Jessica even matched her eye make-up to the colours on her dress.

I would require more attitude and a less mumsy hair do to go with this type of look, but it still works for me.

BDOTW contender?

Any idea what that cuff bracelet is she’s wearing FC?

    • Fashion Critic March 24, 2010 at 13:43 #

      Yes Eddie Borgo

Hmm. The shoes are sort of matchy-matchy for me. But she does look fabulous. The makeup, her hair and that cowl back help make her look effortless…

    Welcome back, Jessica Alba! :)

    Ugh. NO. Absolutely not.

I like her shoes but the dress isn’t THAT amazing, and the makeup seems heavy and disgusting. I’m surprised you liked it, I think the over-matchy style is bad.

Kudos to her stylist. She’s been looking great lately! I love the shoes.

  6. Victoria March 24, 2010 at 14:28 #

BDOTW for me! I love the whole look! The dress and shoes are amazing!

I agree! BDOTW contender. I feel sometimes matchy matchy is the best thing for a look, and this one is perfect.

  7. mol March 24, 2010 at 14:28 #

Yes, BDOTW contender – I love her whole look

  8. Ev March 24, 2010 at 14:37 #

    Definitely BDOTW contender!
I’m in love with her shoes <3

    BDOTW!!! I love this look!

i wish the dress was a tad nipped in at the waist…by just a smidgen…that said i can’t deny i love the styling…Jessica brought sexy back with this look…totlally on point…so yes for now wrt BDOTW but since it’s midweek…i’m guessing it could drop off the list

    • midnightaffair March 24, 2010 at 18:22 #

i agree with you. i wish the dress would be a tiny bit tighter around the waist.. i don’t know if i like it enough to be a BDOTW contender though.

This frock is cute but the shoes are the star of the show (and her shoes have been excellent of late). I have to say, however, that I preferred this incarnation of the print:

That was my fav look from the collection. And I will never forgive Kristen Stewart for ruining it for me. With her boring-ass black pumps and the overall lack of charisma.

  12. JoltOfDavid March 24, 2010 at 15:27 #

Most certainly a BD contender. The dress itself is a winner, and Alba looks great in it too. The cuff, the sandals, her nails… it simply works.

  13. Scott March 24, 2010 at 15:48 #

I would’ve liked to see the dress a tad more fitted for my liking. The shoes are amazing. Hate the hair though.

  14. Ling March 24, 2010 at 15:49 #

My initial reaction was that the dress is totally unflattering on her – it makes her look ‘boxy’.
But on closer inspection, i kinda like the styling (shoes, accessories, makeup, hair).

    Now I’m confused.

I love it. BDOTW contender for sure. For a second I thought she was Leighton Meester, she looks a lot like her in this pic

  16. k March 24, 2010 at 16:51 #

You know my vote is BDOTW contender for sure! I actually love the make up here so much.

  17. ullis March 24, 2010 at 17:20 #

she is the prettiest! Sometimes you gotta wonder tho if it is her smile and her face that makes everything she wears look pretty!

  18. antoneLLina March 24, 2010 at 21:19 #

    love!!! BDOTW for sure!

  19. Gaber March 24, 2010 at 22:30 #

On the bright side, if she ever becomes homeless, she already has the box in which to live in!
    I’d go one size smaller.

  20. Sue Jin March 24, 2010 at 22:58 #

    Please! BDOTW!!
    I love her heels!

  21. mochababe73 March 25, 2010 at 03:17 #

I don’t like the print, and it has no shape. It’s like she’s wearing a dyed potato sack.
    Loving the shoes.

  22. Spanish lover March 25, 2010 at 05:57 #

I love the look, but did you noticed about the mark of the previous socks in her calf?

    • Fashion Critic March 25, 2010 at 07:35 #

Ha….yes I did but I thought it was too petty to mention šŸ˜‰

  23. shuz4ever March 25, 2010 at 08:07 #

Love everything…amongst her better looks… i want those shoes NOW!

  24. Jackie March 26, 2010 at 03:17 #

BDOTW contender FOR SURE! She hasn’t looked all over this good in a WHILE! Her hair is a little boring but that can be looked by… I guess.

I agree with a person above in that it might be her pretty face and bright smile that makes her look so good! She’s lovin her outfit and it shows! This is a GREAT example of confidence can really make your outfit! Whether it’s her expression or not, she loves it… and so do we!

    • Jackie March 26, 2010 at 03:20 #

ALSO – I just saw the close up of her face and her makeup and earrings… so PRETTY! Blue is definitely her color!

  25. Miss F March 26, 2010 at 14:01 #

love, love, love the shoes….. with the dress it’s too matchy matchy but still ok.. not BDOTW contender though

  26. whitestroke March 28, 2010 at 00:18 #

One of my fav looks of the year so far. I didn’t even think it’s matchy matchy, I don’t know what are people talking about. I also don’t get comments that the dress should be more fitted. This is the design of this dress, and I actually find it quite flattering on her, too. Not EVERY dress in the world needs to be body-con, and that’s certainly not what this dress is supposed to be. I also like this color shoes. More interesting than the darker ones that went with this dress on the runway. I liked her in the other Proenza Schouler dress recently too, but this is even better.
