It took a while, but one of Victoria Beckham’s former Spice Girl band mates has finally worn a piece from her dress collection.
Melanie Chisholm aka Mel C arrived at “The Laurence Olivier Awards” which was held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Sunday, wearing a Victoria Beckham Fall 2009 black gown.
The black gown with paillette detailed shoulder pads and a black sash tied to the waist is gorgeous on her.
Not a hint of Sporty Spice.
My only issue – yes I’m being picky – is that Victoria has already worn this gown.
VB wore it to Elton John’s 2009 Oscar Party.
So now instead of us admiring how great Mel looks in this gown, we will be comparing her to Victoria – and we all know that there’s only one winner in that situation.
The singer paired her dress with Vicky’s favourite shoes: Trib Two’s.
Mel C also performed on the night wearing another VB Fall 2009 gown, which has been worn by Erin Wasson.

this is the best i’ve seen mel c look…wow…but the combo of the VB dress and ysl trib 2′s…me thinks that VB might have styled her friend personally

Also, Melanie C wore yet another VB dress for her performance, that’s two VB dresses in one night. Impressive.

I didn’t even notice that this dress was worn by Victoria until you mentioned it. The dress is amazing, and Melanie looks great in it.
I think she looks better than Victoria did, maybe because as somoene else mentioned her curves fit it better.
I really couldn’t stand Mel C as a child. She was always doing those backflips noone asked her to do… just sit down. And I still have some of that hate left but I agree with the rest, she looks as nice as Victoria. Maybe even nicer.

She looks amazing in this dress, better than Victoria even. She does sophisticated very well.
I actually mean this in the best possible way – Victoria Beckham is like a mannequin dream! I swear, she stands better in that dress then the model. Even if I disliked VB (which I definitely don’t), I don’t think me or anyone else could argue that her posture is envy-worthy. Why she was never a supermodel I’ll never understand. I love that Melanie wore the dress and still supports her Spice sisters, but no one can wear it like Victoria.
She’s about 5ft 2in

I don’t think Mel C can be even compared to VB in this dress. That was one of Victoria’s best looks of all time.
i think you may be wrong about the comparison – i think most of us will concentrate on how great she looks. stunning and its true that she fills the dress up better than Vicky
