Nicole Kidman continues to have an allergic reaction to the red carpet.
Whilst Anna Paquin and Anna Kendrick took to the red carpet at the “12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards” last month, Nicole was only pictured backstage.
Had I not spotted this today, we would’ve never seen this rare occasion in which Nicole was not wearing L’Wren Scott.
Instead the actress wore a beautiful burnt orange Lanvin Pre-Fall 2010 dress.
The pencil dress has a bow detail which gathers the dress onto her hip.
I was also particularly drawn to this look because of the turquoise heels.
Everyone seems to wear black heels on the red carpet, so this – although strange and unexpected – is very refreshing.

J’adore Lanvin!!
i haven’t been wowed by Nicole Kidman since a very very long time. to be honest with myself, i’m just upset at her for having messed up with her delicate face. she is no more a stand-out like she was at the beginning of her career.she just blends in.she is my biggest dissapointment among my celeb’s crush.
Totally agree.
The shoes are completely insane!
Gotta love ‘em!
Definitely! First we had SJP now NK, am i spotting a new trend here? (let´s hope) that more will follow
The shoes are exciting! I don’t know why she hasn’t been visible in media. Is it really her or media simply flocking to obnoxious sellouts because they make headlines? I applaud Kidman for not being a media whore. She’s beautiful inside and out.
Her hair looks so nice and it’s great to see her face um.. looking normal. God she really over-Botoxed herself, didn’t she?
Not wearing L’Wren Scott is wonderfully refreshing and it looks to me that she truly made an effort to step out of her comfort zone(s)- reagrding the designer, the hair, the face, everything in fact – and it so paid off!
Not digging the heels but the rest of the look is great on her. So happy that she is sticking with the dark red hair.
i would have love the shoes if they were pumps..not those dorky kitten heals!
The shoes are interesting, but the hair and dress are fantastic. Best she’s looked in a while.
I don’t like the heels or the color. It clashes badly.
hm. i’d say the heels were a mistake. if you want to take a risk, you should know how to take one… (too mean? haha)
Well, it is not L’Wren Scott, but she made sure she chose a Lanvin with th same figure/shape/cut of all those L’Wren Scott dresses/outfits she wears. It is not that much of a change, IMO. The color looks good on her, though, and the shoes are a nice pop of color.
She looks divine here and the shoes are cute. Nicole is notoriously media shy. She looks stunning and the cut of the dress is perfect on her.
Really love the look… esp the unusual punch of colour with the blue heels….wish they were in a trendier style…but then Nicole always plays it safe with her shoe choices.
That burnt orange looks great on Nicole, and the shoes brought a smile to my face, so I like it all.
They’re probably kitten heels, but who cares when the color rocks!
I’m looking at the runway pic and I think this is one of those dresses that look incredibly chic with black tights and shoes. Only not on the red carpet.
