Just when I thought I’d picked my BDOTW winner Sarah Jessica Parker makes me go back to the drawing board.
I should know better, as Thursday nights usually bring out the best threads.
At the Warner Brothers presentation at Showest 2010 in Las Vegas yesterday, SJP looked stunning wearing a yellow Lanvin sequin asymmetrical dress from the Spring 2010 collection.
The gorgeous dress has a draped detail which falls off her shoulder.
I love that she didn’t opted for the ‘Hollywood black pump’.
Instead she kept things interesting by wearing a pair of pink suede Charlotte Olympia Dolly canvas pumps with a gold platform.
I wouldn’t think of putting pink and yellow together, but see how beautifully it works.
SJP and Audrey Tautou are the only ones who’ve made me fall in love with a Lanvin Spring 2010 look off the runway.
Nearly every other piece worn has fallen flat – Demi Moore and Michelle Williams spring to mind.

Sarah Jessica looks really great in this dress. Love the shoe choice as well. The only thing that I don’t like is the sleeve, but the dress is amazing.
I love the dress and shoes, but I wish she’d done something different with her hair. It seems to be fighting that gorgeous dress. But overall I really love this look and it should be a BDOTW contender for sure.

Oh yeah … I’m so in love with her looks at ShoWest (Lanvin and Marchesa)! I actually liked Michelle Williams in Lanvin at the Shutter Island premiere. Have recently seen Demi Moore and Maggie Gyllenhaal in Lanvin, too, but didn’t like those dresses. That’s probably because I’m not a fan of drapery. Some of Lanvin’s dresses have too much of that. Drapery seems to work better on curvier, heavier bodies.
I agree. I liked it on Michelle and Audrey. But it didn’t really work on Demi and Maggie.
I adore this dress on her, shoes everything – I can’t choose between this and the Marchesa – SJP knows how to carry fashion so well, and the colour is fabulous on her. I love that her hair is a little lighter, more of the SJP we love and it lifts her and gives her such a glow, I think she is looking better than she has for a couple of years.
I’m so in love with this. From head to toe. I voted for it for BDOTW. The dress is so much better on her than on the model, and that’s saying a lot, considering that collection mostly failed off runway.
