Zoe Saldana was in the Dominican Republic for the “International Casandra Awards” last night.
Her father is from the Dominican Republic, so like Freida Pinto returning to Mumbai, this was a homecoming return for Zoe who lived there for 7 years.
The event was held at the National Theater in Santo Domingo where Zoe accepted her award for “Most Outstanding Artist Abroad Award”.
She looked stunning wearing an Amanda Wakeley Spring 2010 gown with an asymmetrical neckline.
Her cinnamon ombre draped gown was accented with a cocoa two-prong belt tied to her waist.
I love her look. Her gown has a sari-type feel to it due to the way it’s draped.
She kept her look effortless with a few bracelets and a wooden gold trimmed clutch.
The actress accepted her award speaking in Spanish.

Zoe is beautiful – in a high fashion way (unlike Beyonce)! And, she has good taste. I mean, with some girls (such as Zoe, Kate Hudson, Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung, to name a few randomly), you feel that they own their looks and have strong fashion identities, whereas others just look like their stylists’ puppets, no matter how expensively they dress (such as Katie Holmes). Anyway … I noticed this model in the fall 2010 season, who also has roots in the Caribbeans and is beautiful in a similar way – Joan Smalls.
Whoever said Zoe wasn’t tall enough to wear the Alexander McQueen mini you suggested in your previous Final McQueen show post must be either out of their mind crazy, extremely short-sighted or both!

She’s not as tall as models, but she’s really skinny, not busty and has proportionally very long legs, so she can pull off runway looks with no problem whatsoever.
Perfection once again. I love love LOVE the belt. I love this sense of a simple old-fashioned belt with an evening look, but very little celebs go for that. That’s why Zoe is so awesome and stylish.
