The Elie Saab Fall 2010 presentation was the perfect way to end Fashion Month Week.
In the show notes it said “Pure, absolute black”.
I wondered if we were about to see an all black collection in the same manner as Saab’s all white Fall 2009 Couture collection, but that theory was dashed by Look 30 when a rich burgundy dress glided down the runway.
The other colours presented were leafy green, peacock blue, purple and mocha.
The first part of the presentation was full of form-fitting day wear, before moving to the haunted forest prints which I found to be really intriguing.
From the simple and refined looks we then saw the more extravagant looks Saab is known for.
Embellished gowns and cocktail dresses with keyhole and cut-out details lit up the runway. Taylor Swift would be happy to wear one of these pieces.
From the extravagant we then saw some beautiful tulle gowns which closed the show. Models looked light they were floating on clouds as they breezed down the runway.
The eggplant asymmetrical gown which was trimmed with lace had me breathless.
Elie never fails to deliver, which is why he will always be my red carpet king.
Be prepared to see many of these pieces on the red carpet.

Wow, this collection is exquisite. I loved every piece. J’adore indeed!
I think this was one of the best shows in Paris for fall . I just loved everything.
some look like rodarte knock-offs, but all in all, a pretty decent collection
I had a feeling someone would say that.
I don’t think Rodarte invented tulle gowns.
I love it, specially the color scheme,.
hey FC it might be my first comment but trust me i’m a big fan of your blog; i appreciate your hard work to report all the fashion related events and your comments always make me laugh. what i like most is that we often share the same taste. i just adore elie saab and i’m a fan of his designs from his early start as a local designer (he used to show at casino du liban before hitting paris) and i’m very proud to see his huge success and his fan base growing to include beautiful and fashionable women like you. i saw the collection at style.com yesterday and i was waiting for you to post it to see your reaction. for me, it just left me speachless.
Hi there, thanks for your comment. It’s good to know we share the same taste in fashion.
Elie is king. I’m so glad that he dress two women at the Oscars he really is a talented designer.
I always left speechless after his presentations.
Definitely a bit more dark and moody than we’re used to from mr. Saab, but still A-mazing! Looks like you were sitting front row… were you?
yes I was front row
ah you lucky woman! I’m happy you were and i hope you had fun. watching the stunning lace, chiffons and cascading ruffles along with the beautifil details elie is known for must be amazing and i bet that he, as a person, is very charming too. i never met him in person, but i have seen him in many tv interviews. well enjoy every moment!
He’s like a rock star. So charismatic
Gorg!!
I would love to see Eva Green in one of these!
he is my red carpet king also. I love this collection.
FC i absolutely adoreeee you
Kisses to Vanessa xxxxoxxxx
I can’t even stand how amazing this collection is. Move aside Oscar and Dior, Elie is the new gown king.
