Valentino’s Fall 2010 presentation was full of ruffles.
Curved ruffles, tiered ruffles, scalloped ruffles, delicate ruffles and dramatic ruffles.
The colour palette consisted of nudes, black, red and white.
Nude jackets and coats had ruffled collars and floral appliqués. Chic white blouses and skirts also had cascading ruffles and folds.
We also saw lace blouses and dresses. Lots of above the knee pieces including a stunning tiered beaded dress, which was also presented as a top and a glorious gown.
Tailored pants and wool coats were included in this romantic presentation, but the show-stopping pieces were the nude scaplloed edge gown with black lace details and the black lace high-neck gown which I’m sure will be hitting the red carpet soonish.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Valentino, so I was happy to see many Valentino red looks in this collection.
All the looks in this collection were paired with nude studded kitten heels or flats, much to the delight of the models no doubt.
The show started nearly an hour late. This is usually an indication that a major celebrity is on their way.
The late comer was Grace Coddington who laughed – as we all did – when the photographers booed her for being so late.

Who’s Grace Coddington?
Love the collection… although the long red dress with ruffles reminds me a lot of the Givenchy dress Cloe Sevigny wore to the … Globes, I think?
creative director us vogue
If Anna Wintour is not at a show, Grace or Hamish has to be as a representative of Vogue
I think that it’s the best collection since Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are the creative directors of Valentino. Everything is very romantic but sexy at the same time, young and timeless.
Yes, you’re quite right, and I like the red one in last picture. I also wrote this in my blog
