Runway To Oscar Parties – Victoria Beckham & Cameron Diaz In Victoria Beckham Collection

During her Fall 2010 presentation, Victoria Beckham announced to her invited guests that she was going to wear the above gown to Elton John’s Oscar party – which she did.

The problem with her announcing which look she was going to wear was that it took away the anticipation and excitement out of her look.

She does look great in her self designed dress. I love that it’s not black – like she wore last year – as her face feels brighter, but this could be due to the lighter make-up and lighting.

She was easily one of the best dressed at the Oscar parties.

Cameron Diaz’ look I didn’t see coming.

At the Vanity Fair Party the blonde actress arrived wearing my favourite look from Victoria Beckham’s Fall 2010 collection.

The gold/silver shimmering asymmetrical dress is stunning, but the thud at her feet is still ringing in my ears.

I love you Rachel. You’re an amazing stylist, but what’s with these black pumps paired with nearly everything for your clients?

Demi Moore doesn’t hit a red carpet without black pumps either.

With the amount of shoes Rachel has on offer this really lets me down.

actually victoria anounced that she would wear a different dress from her collection but i’m happy she opted for this one instead as she looks beautiful. So does cameron but i agree it’s a shame about the shoes

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 10:46 #

Actually she said she was going to wear this dress.

      • Katie March 9, 2010 at 11:09 #

Did she? Because the description on style.com was ‘a buff-colored draped silk jersey gown with a grosgrain ribbon sashed around the asymmetrical bodice’, which I thought might be this one – http://www.style.com/slideshows/2010/fashionshows/F2010RTW/VBECKHAM/RUNWAY/00070m.jpg.

But now I’ve seen your post and I’m confused, as you would have a much better idea than me.

        • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 11:18 #

Instyle posted the picture of the dress she described so that’s why it wasn’t a surprise to me.

    • Vera March 9, 2010 at 14:01 #

      Totally agree.

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 15:30 #

      OK I take it back,

For some reason I pictured the dress she’s wearing but Instyle have this dress. My brain is in melt down. Not enough sleep I blame

very gorgeous look for both of them. love VB especially. she look statuesque imo

    • mm March 9, 2010 at 14:30 #

      I agree

  3. Dorian Gray March 9, 2010 at 10:31 #

J’adore Victoria! She was one of the best dresses!

  4. shree March 9, 2010 at 10:48 #

Victiria looks stunning, which is something I never have thought before. Ever since she had her breast implants reduced she has refined her look. That whole WAG look was an expensive way to look cheap. This is a beautiful dress. But, like Cameron, Victoria also had on some heavy shoes, which was a shame. She just stands out in the simplicity of this. Cameron looks gorgeous, but I am in total agreement about the shoes.

    Victoria looks amazing!

  6. Vicky March 9, 2010 at 10:52 #

    Both ladies look lovely!
Victoria was definitely among the best dressed of the evening!
I prefer this dress on Cameron than her Oscar gown, I felt that she “drowned” when having her hair down together with the volume of the skirt. It looks better here together with the pop of red lipstick.

  7. nicky March 9, 2010 at 11:21 #

i think both of them look equally as glamorous. i do like that victoria looks extremely elegant and sophisticated in tht gown of hers. love the metallic on cameron as well

  8. Vernie March 9, 2010 at 11:25 #

Victoria looks amazing!!!and i actually remember u writing on your review of her latest collection that you could totally see that dress on Cameron.omg!!ur powers are growing, lol.
Love your site btw…i’ve been reading it since early 2008, and i have to say that on the rare days i miss reading it, i go into withdrawal , haha.
    Best wishes!!

  9. nicole March 9, 2010 at 11:39 #

    they look amazing.
im so excited for victoria. this just speaks to all the doubters. she is definitely a full fledged designer IMO and i cant wait to see much more of her work on the runway and on the red carpet…

ps: great oscar coverage FC dont know what i’d do without this site!

  10. christine March 9, 2010 at 11:48 #

Both look elegant and great but who’s is Rachel?

    • Vicky March 9, 2010 at 14:27 #

I think she’s referring to Rachel Zoe, Cameron’s (amongst others) stylist

      • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 14:46 #

        Yes I was.

Thanks Vicky. I was on the move and couldn’t respond

  11. Alyazia March 9, 2010 at 11:54 #

I love how this collection is translating on the redcarpet very sophistacted i may say .. im sure we’ll see many after cameron opting for victoria’s elegant dresses ..

Catherine my dear, job well done for this great coverage, im sure ur dead tired by now, but im guessing its Elie Saab collection on Thursday thats keeping you on ur feet :p

  12. robbie March 9, 2010 at 12:18 #

both boring dresses, but the one victoria is wearing is probably the most boring. hate the dress cameron is wearing.

    • M March 9, 2010 at 19:09 #

Not a personal attack or anything. But I have come to a realization that no matter what VB wears or does or designs, nothing positive or neutral has ever been said.
As for my own comments, I give credit when due. She looks amazing and so does Cameron. She has earned her way in the fashion stakes. Stylists and even editors are giving her credit for it. This is what I call real recognition.

      • robbie March 9, 2010 at 22:27 #

i have actually said a few positive things about victoria and her style, but not alot though.

as for cameron i actually like alot of the stuff she wears.

  13. Alina March 9, 2010 at 12:20 #

For once,I feel like Victoria looks human.

  14. Nikki March 9, 2010 at 13:53 #

I agree with Robbie. The dresses were both boring. I mean I don’t find anything special about Victoria Beckham’s designs. Been there done that; she brings nothing new to the table. They’re all designed for herself and her body type.

However I wouldn’t say they look bad, jst nothing extraordinary. I prefer Cameron Diaz’s look though except for the shoes.

  15. Jennifer March 9, 2010 at 14:03 #

I wish Cameron, knowing where the one shoulder was, had her hair styled to the other side.

And the only reason for the monstrosity of her heel color choice that I can see is the black band at the waist which blocks off the silver and gold. It doesn’t mean I approve of them at all though.

Victoria finally laid off the tanner and looks beautiful, but you’re right, it took the thrill out knowing what she was going to wear.

  16. mandy March 9, 2010 at 14:04 #

Hands down Victoria is my queen.

  17. Matt March 9, 2010 at 15:00 #

I love VB’s confidence on the red carpet. What I also love is her ability to look like she’s 6 feet tall in everything she wears. The dress never wears her, I could think of 10 celebs who could use a little VB stance whenever they are on a red carpet

  18. Debb March 9, 2010 at 15:19 #

J’adore Victoria! She was one of the best dresses -BDOTW pleaaaaaaaaaaseeeeeeeee FC xxx

  19. kim March 9, 2010 at 15:21 #

somehow i think the dress victoria is wearing won’t do other women any favors. The waist is not elegant except if u have size zero. U can see at other sites that when victoria sits on a chair next to heidi klum, it’s like a balloon at het waist. Other from that, all her dresses are magnificient.
fc i also thought that she said she was going to wear the off-the-shouder silk nude gown, …but hey, u are the boss ;-) xx

  20. The One March 9, 2010 at 15:21 #

Love, love love, Victoria’s dress, personally I would wear this look anyday and everywhere – love it. A friend of mine stated an interest in owning it in various colours and wear it contineously.

One of the best dresses of the night.

  21. mol March 9, 2010 at 15:33 #

Victoria is pitch perfect – I love the tiny pop of color from her ring, and just the whole lovely shape her dress and train creates (the expert pose I guess). This is a minimalist look with a maximalist punch! Cameron also looks wonderful, in a totally different way – a blond goddess, and I don’t mind the shoes as those legs can do no wrong!

  22. Kadeam March 9, 2010 at 17:15 #

Simon cowell’s girlfriend/fiancé Megzhan (sp?) wore a VB dress too.
Number 48 from 2010 spring summer if i remember rightly :)

  23. susieQ March 9, 2010 at 19:09 #

wow Victoria looks like a vision, one of the best dress on the poll for Oscar Parties, WOW!

  24. wilwarin March 9, 2010 at 19:29 #

i’m not usually crazy about VB but i’m in love with this dress…

  25. nokia March 9, 2010 at 20:35 #

Yeah actually she was interviewed by Us weekly, she said she was gonna wear the pink dress (which she said on the presentation, which i totally prefered this one than that one) but she said someone else wanted that dress. So who do you think gonna wear that dress FC? :P

Btw Cameron from the side wearing VBs dress, looks AMAZING, the shoes, and the back ruined it…

  26. nokia March 10, 2010 at 00:51 #

    i mean the bag…

  27. DM March 10, 2010 at 04:27 #

Love Love LOVE Cameron Diaz here! She looks great! As for the shoes, I can see that she’s pulling the black from the waist of the dress, so i’m not really against the shoe choice…

  28. Laura March 10, 2010 at 07:32 #

Only VB can pose and brings drama to that dress! Personally, I think she’s the best dressed for both the Oscars and the after party!

  29. whitestroke March 11, 2010 at 02:41 #

    Victoria is looking great.

Cameron’s shoes with clear parts on the side look soooo familiar. But I can’t remember the show I saw those in. Maybe Michael Kors? I’m not 100% sure, but I’m sure I’ve seen them in one of the Spring 2010 collections.
