First and only time I can claim I was the first to vote.

After a quick deliberation, I gave it to Cameron,. who, with her old school Hollywood charm and beauty, knocked it out of the park for me one hundred percent.

  2. Hayley March 8, 2010 at 16:42 #

I have never had so much trouble choosing between two – Sandra Bullock and Zoe Saldana. Both took my breath away but Sandra somehow got my vote.

  3. mm March 8, 2010 at 16:43 #

Zoe is my #1, the dress was amazing and she really looked outstanding on the red carpet and on the stage presenting. Then it would be Maggie, JLo and SJP.

  5. Erik Mercedes March 8, 2010 at 16:46 #

I am soooo excited that Zoe is leading the polls! I nearly had a heart attack when I saw her in that Givenchy dress! Has anyone every won peoples choice and FC’s choice?? 😉

  6. Barbara March 8, 2010 at 16:47 #

zoe looks fantastic, but i think cameron or rachel deserve it better, because zoe looks perfect everywhere, but cameron just totally WOWed me,the same with rachel :)

  7. shap_half March 8, 2010 at 16:51 #

This was a great night for fashion. I really loved so many looks and I think you selected a really strong crop, I wish there was room to add Carey Mulligan, Nicole Richie, Vera Farmiga, Kate Winslet and Amanda Seyfried.

So many of them look amazing. I voted for SJP. She looked amazing. The color of the gown is great. The detail on the neckline is interesting. She just put it all together.

  8. Marvel March 8, 2010 at 16:53 #

I was tempted to vote for Sandra as I love her and her dress but Diaz made me swoon with perfection and I love her blown out hair like that. Her and Vera were stunning. Rachel was a nice surprise and Meryl looks the best she has ever looked. Zoe’s dress was very dramatic to say the least

  9. Naomi March 8, 2010 at 16:53 #

I also voted for Cam D, I still think Saldana’s dress is absolutely horrible.

BTW, I thought Queen Latifah looked amazing in her Badgley Mischka.

  10. Dinesh March 8, 2010 at 16:54 #

I am honestly spoilt for choice. Some of them look amazing. I can’t decide between Zoe and Rachel. ):

  11. lee March 8, 2010 at 16:57 #

i honestly can’t vote. they’re all so gorgeous!

…..but for originality, i have to give it to either sjp or zoe.

  12. Tanua March 8, 2010 at 16:58 #

FC,I love you but you missed out my favourite look of the night by FAR,this being zoe kravitz’s dress. Did you not see it?she looked amazing-best of the night!is there any way you can add her to the list?!

    • mm March 8, 2010 at 22:56 #

      She did look adorable.

  13. Elise March 8, 2010 at 16:58 #

It is impossible to choose one. I voted for Sandra because she looked amazing but SJP, Cameron and Rachel are wonderful !

  14. stinalotta March 8, 2010 at 17:03 #

Cameron Diaz, without a doubt. She looks so amazing, she is essentially glowing. Seriously, perfect, hands down. Finally she shows us what she’s capable of, I don’t think I have ever been this much in love with her on a red carpet.

Amanda Seyfried should be on this list too, but that may be just me.

  15. mol March 8, 2010 at 17:04 #

I really loved Maggie and Rachel, but I have to give it to Sandra – the makeup wasn’t perfect, but the gown was. It makes her look so tall and elegant, and it has the perfect amount of shimmer, she moved well in it, and her personality still came through, bravo!

  16. Kyutye March 8, 2010 at 17:06 #

    1. My voet goes to Jennifer Lopez. I love the gown, the colour and the make up. The hair and shoes are a bit of a let down though.
    2. A very close second is Rachel McAdams. Her gown is just breathtaking.
    3. Maggie Gylenhaal.
    4. Anna Kendrick.
    5. Zoe Saldana / Sandra Bullock
    6. Meryl Streep
    I really didn’t like Cameron’s and SJP’s looks.

  17. Watcher March 8, 2010 at 17:13 #

I’m horrified now.. At first I thought Zoe looked really nice and unique but now the dress seems just too big for her and the slit in the front is really ruining it for me.

    So Sandra all the way.

  18. Nemesis March 8, 2010 at 17:14 #

No Diane!?! i thought you would put her in the list as many thouht she look wonderful…

  19. Alex March 8, 2010 at 17:15 #

We had some amazing gowns this year but I voted for rachel McAdams, she wins for me, her dress is amazing, it’s like made for her and she looks fresh and glamorous.

Are you gonna post best/ worst dresses? Because I always wait for this!

  20. Luana Gabriella March 8, 2010 at 17:15 #

I personally don’t like Miley Cyrus neither her style, but surprisingly she is my best dressed nominee.
    And second Cameron Diaz.

  21. nicole March 8, 2010 at 17:15 #

    then JLO, Meryl and Sandra

  22. Amelia March 8, 2010 at 17:18 #

ZOE! ZOE! ZOE! I was watching the Oscars here in Brazil and the TV critic dared to say she was badly dressed! she clearly doesn’t understand what a couture gown is about!

  23. julie March 8, 2010 at 17:18 #

i do love your blog…but there are some aspects that let me down recently….first of all, why do you keep making separate posts? maybe it has some logical explanation but i’ve always thought that you can get a more general view when there are a lot of outfits together…and why don’t you give anymore fashion awards? that was actually the most fun part from this blog….anyway checking it is my guilty pleasure so i won’t give up reading it! best wishes

    • Fashion Critic March 8, 2010 at 22:44 #

Julie, I receive lots of negatives comments but as I feel that everyone is entitled to their opinions I accept the comment and move on.

On this occasion I was really annoyed by your comment considering the lengths I had gone to to blog about the Oscars.

On Sunday night after I left Paris missing Sonia Rykiel and John Gallian’s shows to head back to London to blog about the Oscars from my home because I wanted to watch the ceremony whilst blogging and my hotel didn’t have a channel which showed the Oscars.

I blogged live, so it was not possible to give out the awards you are referring to, because I was not able to compare the looks like I have done in the past when I waited for everything to come in before blogging.

After saying up until 4am on Monday morning after blogging as many as I could without falling asleep, I woke up at 8am after 4 hours sleep to blog some more.

I left my house at 11.30 to catch the 12.30 train back to Paris missing Giambattista Valli’s (one of my favourite designers) 2pm show and I arrived in Paris at 3.50.

I arrived at my hotel an hour later in which I blogged some more.

I then went to 2 Fashion Week shows, and one re-see before returning to my hotel at 9pm.

Before returning to my hotel I was finally managed to eat for the first time in the day.

So I’m sorry if you felt let down, but I have worked my butt off to bring the Oscar coverage – which I’m still working on – on little sleep and 5 hours on travelling on the Eurostar.

With regards to the posts being separate. This is in order to speed up the site.

Grouping so many pictures together slows down the server as it recalls 15 or so pictures from one post, and therefore slows down the site.

      • dressaddict March 8, 2010 at 22:53 #

FC, sorry to intervine, but people probably think you are not alone in this, I myself assume you have another (at least) co-blogger working with you. And after your explanation we can see it is tremendous work to do it only by yourself.

      • Jeremy March 9, 2010 at 00:19 #

People are sometimes just too greedy that they demand everything has to be on the table immediately. It really amazes me on how much dedication you have put on this blog. Sure there are few hiccup there and now, but your constant, hour-to-hour updates are just…impressive. I don’t know if I can have to same patience and passion like yours to do such works. I thank you for being that wonderful. Don’t let anything get you down, cause we always got your back!

        • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 01:31 #

          thanks Jeremy :)

        • mol March 9, 2010 at 02:14 #

Ditto to Jeremy’s well said comment – I really do think the complainers are far fewer than the ‘appreciators’ who love what your doing!

        • Erik Mercedes March 9, 2010 at 02:52 #

          I agree with Jeremy!

Honey, let me tell you, I was up all night blogging about the Oscars and I live in America! It was sooo exhausting! I remember sending you to bed last night because I couldn’t believe that you were still up! What’s even crazier is that while I was still up blogging, I saw you do your last post, and a few hours later, maybe 3-4 hours, there was another post! I was like seriously, did this girl not go to bed?! I thought how disciplined is she to go to sleep for what, four hours and get up and hop right back on the computer to satisfy her readers! That being said, you do a fantastic job and should let the negative comments roll of your back because YOU’RE the blogger that’s being featured in American Vogue!!!!! I mean, really?? It doesn’t get any better than that! Keep doing your thing!

          • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 10:50 #

LOL yes you did send me to bed.

            Thanks Mercedes.

        • Vicky March 9, 2010 at 11:01 #

I noticed that compared to previous award shows and last years coverage that it wasn’t updated as quickly. But when I realized you’re in Paris for fashion week I totally understand why. And here’s a million hugs to you for keeping up the REALLY good work, despite being on the run 24/7!! I don’t know what I would’ve done without this site!

      • whitestroke March 11, 2010 at 02:23 #

I’ve been saying this few times for the past few years and I’ll say it again. I think it’s outrageous when people complain about anything on your blog. It’s YOUR blog. You do it how YOU do it and we can all be grateful for it and enjoy it, and those that do not should just move on. I’ve seen few people complaining about the way you’re making more separate posts now and it rubbed me the wrong way. Why should any of us tell YOU how you should or should not run your blog? That’s unacceptable and even rude. Just enjoy the content. The format is up to the poster.

        • Fashion Critic March 11, 2010 at 08:54 #

Thanks Whitestroke. I find it baffling too.

To say I love your blog, but I hate this this this and this about it.

          Say what????

    • Maggie March 9, 2010 at 14:44 #

      Julie not cool.

I think it’s quite clear that FC is working night and day on this site and your being very ungrateful

  24. dressaddict March 8, 2010 at 17:20 #

Why doesn’t Miley appear on this poll? She was definitely better dressed than Anna Kendrick. So sorry you didn’t think she was worthy of being at least mentioned on the site for this occasion :(

    • Sonia March 9, 2010 at 01:27 #

yeah i was thinking the same thing. i mean for me zoe was the clear winner but miley deserved to be on the list or at the very least even discussed/mentioned on the site. i mean, i know you don’t like her FC, but is that why you left her out?

      • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 01:38 #

When it comes to writing about people like Miley and Kristen Stewart there is a fan backlash when you write about them which the fans don’t like and for me this has become increasing tiresome.

I didn’t mention her because I really didn’t have an opinion on her look. I really didn’t care and rather than be miserable about her I didn’t feature her.

I mentioned Kristen because even though she was awkward in the dress the dress itself was amazing

        • Kate March 10, 2010 at 22:13 #

Totally agree! (on the styling comments and on the fact that their fans can be, um, annoying, to say the least)

Miley is boring, and though she looked better than usual, something about the fit of her dress (tiiiight bodice that looks like it might show some nip if she moved) was off…

Kristen wore a lovely dress, but I’d argue the dress wore her. It just didn’t seem… right on her. On P.Cruz, K. Winslet, etc, perfect. On her, it just seemed a touch too old and glam.

  25. JoltOfDavid March 8, 2010 at 17:20 #

Perhaps for the first time, Cameron looked much older than she really is. She shouldn’t even be on this list. The whole look is very dated.
Meryl looked fresh and relaxed. Too bad she was pretty much the only one.
Carey Mulligan’s Prada was so much better than Rachel’s scarfy Elie Saab.
Zoe Saldana certainly made an effort.

  26. Yaas March 8, 2010 at 17:23 #

Beside these ladies ( Meryl, Zoe, Maggie, Rachel and Jennifer were my fav.) I really liked Carey Mulligan (I know you didn’t like her outfit), so I gave my vote to amazing Meryl

    • Yaas March 8, 2010 at 21:15 #

      Also I liked Diane Kruger’s :(

  27. Dorian Gray March 8, 2010 at 17:27 #

Please FC post something on Victoria Beckham @ Elton John after-Oscar party! She was amazing in her design!! Thanks

  28. TLVgirl March 8, 2010 at 17:28 #

Even though I adored zoe’s Givenchy gown, I’ve decided to root for Sandra, who is possibly the underdog of this best dressed list. Actually the real underdog here is Meryl Streep but I was really impressed by how great Sandra looked so I voted for her.
For some reason I’m feeling the urge to reveal that I think Jeniffer Lopez and Amanda Seyfried looked like they were wearing bubble wrap. I don’t get these Armani Prive dresses. For me they only work on lady gaga.

  29. Zoé March 8, 2010 at 17:29 #

Must say, I am seriously torn! All off these ladies looked stunning. My favourites are Rachel McAdams, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Zoe Saldana and Cameron Diaz.

In the end I gave my vote to Sandra Bullock because her dress, especially the shoulder detail, is so gorgeous and she pulled it off perfectly in combination with the hair, make up and accessories.

  30. Lauren March 8, 2010 at 17:30 #

Hmm I’ll vote for Cameron, the dress is stunning!
I dont know but I think Miley deserves to be on the list, since she was beautiful & we havent really seen on the Red Carpet looking beautiful for a long time so yeah..
But still the list above is pretty good 😀

  31. danielezka March 8, 2010 at 17:32 #

i loved Giuliana Rancic’s Pamela Rollad gold gown. She wore it for the pre-show. she looked stunning.

  32. Symon March 8, 2010 at 17:32 #

    My top 5 :

    Zoé Saldana
    Sarah Jessica Parker
    Cameron Diaz
    Meryl Streep

    • Symon March 9, 2010 at 07:14 #

MY top 5 LOL there is only 4 women XD

  33. stilettolover91 March 8, 2010 at 17:34 #

again u didn’t even feature mariah carey…. what’s with ur hate towards her huh???

  34. Leonorah alexis March 8, 2010 at 17:39 #

It has to go to SJP effortless style, but JLO looked like her body was made for that dress. however all in all very difficult selection they all looked flawless

  35. TMCFS March 8, 2010 at 18:00 #

This is a tough one. I’d vote for the Armani Prive dress that JLo wore, only if she wasn’t wearing it. Anybody else would have looked great in it. She looks good, but doesn’t quite work it. Rachel’s dress was more springy than red carpet worthy. My vote goes to Sandra. The hair, the make up, the clutch… everything looked great. The lipstick prevented a wash-out look.

  36. justme March 8, 2010 at 18:07 #

Even though the dress matches her skin tone a little too much for my liking, I gave it to Anna. That dress is so goddess like, Elie did it again.

  37. Dana March 8, 2010 at 18:08 #

    #1 – Rachel
    #2 – Cameron

  38. Leo March 8, 2010 at 18:13 #

Meryl made me fall in love with her one more time. Loving it even more the more I see it.

  39. Natasa March 8, 2010 at 18:18 #

My favourite dress by Givenchy, Zoe Saldana so beutiful looking in this dress. But I am pity that all dresses is very long and we not can see shoes.

  40. Eve March 8, 2010 at 18:19 #

i think nicole richie should have been in that list. she has a totally different look than the rest and originality should be rewarded. it is not your average princess dress we generally see at the oscars. the same could be said for maggie gylenhall who pushes the enveloppe and wins!

  41. anne March 8, 2010 at 18:25 #

  42. FashionLover March 8, 2010 at 18:28 #

For me,as much as i love bling,I found the softer looks more beautiful,I loved Sarah Jessica Parker,Rachel McAdams ,Meryl Streep, and Zoe Sadalana
the Chanel is growing on me second after second,I cannot stop loving how different it is for such an event, where others went for elaborate gowns, and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Hair was just lovely, okay now im lusting! lol
I am just falling out of love with Sandra Bulock’s look,I dunno ,the gown is exquisite but the makeup looks really forced and makes her look a bit aged

  43. Louisa March 8, 2010 at 18:35 #

ahhhh this was SO HARD! i voted for zoe but i rachel, meryl, maggie and sandra were all close seconds for me.

  44. ZzaRaZza March 8, 2010 at 18:37 #

I gave it to Cameron ’cause she hasn’t looked that gorgeous in quite a while

  45. Gaber March 8, 2010 at 18:40 #

I adored Diane, but out of the girls listed here – I’m going with Maggie.

  46. Katherine March 8, 2010 at 19:00 #

what about Miley Cyrus? i know your not her biggest fan…but she looked fantastic last night in her champagne gown

  47. Victoria March 8, 2010 at 19:20 #

Really hard to choose! Anna looked so pretty, Sandra’s look is amazing and I loved Cameron as well. :) But I had to give it to Zoe Saldana. 😀 Seriously, just for daring to wear that amazing gown makes her deserve best dressed. :)

On another note, so sad that Anne Hathaway wasn’t at the Oscars! :( I was looking forward to seeing what she would wear.

  48. cd March 8, 2010 at 19:25 #

okay so i for-fitted voting as it was between sandra, meryl, zoe, sjp & j-lo
too difficult FC! this year was better than last year though, no?

  49. Ev March 8, 2010 at 19:26 #

I fell in love with Rachel’s look the first second I saw it. She was unbelievably beautiful. All three – Cameron, Maggie and Anna – are my close second.
At the beginning I actually favoured Zoe in Givenchy, but now I don’t like it at all (especially the hem of her dress).

  50. Hermione Weasley March 8, 2010 at 19:28 #

    Absolutely Rachel McAdams <3

  51. Meg March 8, 2010 at 19:35 #

my favourite by a mile was Amanda Seyfried. She was absolute perfection – not a hair out of place…amazing gown (which I liked more than J-Lo’s Armani Prive) and gorgeous makeup

so a tad disappointed to not see her here (though i completely understand that only a certain number can be included)

in saying that my second fave of the night – a far second for me, hehe – was Rachel McAdams – she literally floated on to the stage like a dream

  52. alexandra March 8, 2010 at 19:39 #

Rachel McAdams shouldn’t be here….her dress is sooo boring , Diane Kruger did the look definitely bettter- and spectacular!

  53. wilwarin March 8, 2010 at 19:40 #

it’s tuff vote, i like Rachel McAdmas, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep and I absolutely adore Zoe Saldana, for me she’s hert own category.

  54. Kellyn March 8, 2010 at 19:42 #

Sandra all the way. In my opinion, she completely knocked it out of the park! That dress looked like it was made for her, and it is by far the best she’s ever looked! Plus, that pinks lipstick is too perfect :)

  55. Dani March 8, 2010 at 20:05 #

I couldnt decide with Rachel Mcadams, Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz and Sandra Bullock here… they all looked great! I ended up voting for Cameron because it’s the best I can ever remember he looking :)

Great coverage! Although I wish you could have gotten Miley Cyrus in there… she actually looked pretty good!

  56. Chloe March 8, 2010 at 20:06 #

Rachel Mcadams looks stunning in Elie Saab
    i love Elie Saab

  57. Aphrodite March 8, 2010 at 20:11 #

Its so hard to choose they all worked the red carpet!! I was so looking forward to your awards on best dressed or worst dressed or best use of colour award. But other than that great coverage on the oscars red carpet!!

  58. Pau March 8, 2010 at 20:12 #

    Diane Kruger, no doubt.

  59. miwa March 8, 2010 at 20:15 #

My personal best dressed was Carey, so I didn’t vote in this poll. Out of these I’d give it to Zoe.

  60. nokia March 8, 2010 at 20:26 #

FC, what do think about the idea of having “who was your best dressed at the after party” poll? so many great looks at the after party. posh, heidi, jlo, kate, bar, katy, etc :)

  61. alex March 8, 2010 at 20:30 #

Voted for Saldana, the gown is awesome. Big dissapointment this awards season though.

Btw, i’m missing your old awards like “nice dress shame about the hair” etc. guess it’s because you’re quite busy right now no?

  62. army67 March 8, 2010 at 20:35 #

That’s Hollywood !!!!!!!!!!

    • Fashion Critic March 8, 2010 at 22:12 #

      translated by google

Also tonight, the stars have made us dream … … but a little too much elegance and ostentation: the one to embody the Hollywood glamor Cameron Diaz, the most generous Meryl Streep wearing the dress of an emerging, exaggerated the Armani Prive x JLo and Amanda Seyfried ; bland as ever Maggie Gyllenhaal and Sandra Bullock and Mariah Carey has managed to devalue even a Valentine! That’s Hollywood !!!!!!!!!!

      thanks army67

  63. Rosie March 8, 2010 at 20:46 #

While I was genuinely excited for the Oscars, they were a bit of let down….
Other years there seemed to be more stars and bigger impacts.
Have some sleep FC, you’ve been blogging non-stop 😉

  64. bettybrandenburg March 8, 2010 at 20:47 #

    Impossible to vote!
Zoe Saldana for sheer pizzaz …
Sandra Bullock for not only getting a golden statuette, but for looking like one …
Rachel McAdams for superb choice of colour….
Maggie Gyllenhaal for fashion courage, choosing such an edgy look…
    Meryl Streep for class
Jennifer Lopez for most innovative use of a packing material…
Cameron Diaz for old style glamour…
SJP for an Audrey Hepburn in My-Fair-Lady-lookalike (and proving that that Chanel line doesn’t make everybody look like a prime poodle)…
The only one not getting my vote is Anna K – but only because I can’t see where the dress ends and she starts!

  65. Debb March 8, 2010 at 20:48 #

what about Victoria Beckham and delicate slice of divinity?

  66. Antonio Emanuele March 8, 2010 at 21:04 #

im with u jennifer, i also think that cameron looked the best, sorry for the zoe gang but she looked like she tried too much for my taste.

  67. Mahima March 8, 2010 at 21:27 #

    rachel for sure

  68. Raquel March 8, 2010 at 21:27 #

Zoe because any of the other dresses could have been worn at any other event, but hers deserved the biggest red carpet of all and she just rocked it.

  69. Moxie March 8, 2010 at 21:32 #

Loved Rachel, Sandra and Maggie. Guess I’m in the minority about Zoe’s dress… I thought it looked like a shag rug.

  70. Jen March 8, 2010 at 21:36 #

God, this was a tough one. My favorites were Rachel and Zoe for completely different reasons. Rachel looked so feminine and ethereal, and Zoe so bold and dramatic. Ultimately, I gave it to Rachel because I just ADORED her dress.

  71. Faellie March 8, 2010 at 21:37 #

It’s been the Year of the Big Ruffle, hasn’t it?

I’m interested that there are no asymetric necklines, when they’ve been such a big red carpet trend. Are they over, or it is a cocktail dress/formal dress divide?

The dresses are gorgeous, of course, but all could easily have come from a previous decade, except for the print of Maggie’s and perhaps the shape of Zoe’s and Jennifer’s.

  72. Estranged March 8, 2010 at 21:39 #

I don;t get why people are so obsessed with Zoe Saldana’s Givenchy. To me it;s just weird and not a bit attractive.
And purple is not her colour.

    • Moxie March 9, 2010 at 14:36 #

I’m with you. I didn’t mind the color too much, some of the purples were lovely, but the bottom of the dress looked like a bath mat or a shag rug.

  73. aimé March 8, 2010 at 21:55 #

hi fc! i was wondering if you’ll make a post about the ladies you didn’t comment on. you know, miley cyrus, wueen latifah, etc etc. i always enjoy reading your opinion, :)

as for the bdotw, i had to give my vote to sandra bullock. i know her dress didn’t have the wow factor that zoe’s has, but i just can’t get my mind around how beautiful she looks! i don’t remember ever seeing her this gorgeous.

    • Fashion Critic March 8, 2010 at 22:10 #

      Thanks aime.

At an event like this it is impossible to write about everyone.

  74. nathalie March 8, 2010 at 21:58 #

My favourite was El;izabeth Bank’s beautiful Versaci
    gry dress

  75. aimé March 8, 2010 at 22:00 #

rachel was a close second, too. her dress is beautiful, and i just love her,

  76. zoe March 8, 2010 at 22:26 #

i am so glad that zoe saldana is winning this poll! she was the best dressed of the night from the moment i saw her. she really knows how to dress. <3 cameron diaz, jennifer lopez, amanda seyfried and miley cyrus were also my favorites of the night. did you see how AMAZING miley looked? especially her makeup <3 perfection!

  77. Caligirl March 8, 2010 at 22:35 #

There are a couple of people that I saw that were missed in the Oscar round up that are definately worth posting if you have time…Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah, Mariska Hargitay, and Georgina Chapman.

OMG, and Hilary Swank, a totally knock out at the Vanity Fair after party!!! Jaw dropping!! Please post!!

  78. dressaddict March 8, 2010 at 22:45 #

Zoe Kravitz was GORGEOUS also! That dress with velvet bow in the back…just stunning!

  79. Eloise March 8, 2010 at 22:56 #

Where’s Kirsten Stewart?!?!?!Her Monique L’huillier dress was amazing.

  80. lila March 8, 2010 at 23:23 #

awwww, I loved Carey Mulligan dress:( shame that isnt in this list.

  81. jprdan March 8, 2010 at 23:25 #

i think we can all agree miley cyrus has no style but this time she pulled it off big time, her dress being one of many favorites from the night on tons of reviews. i believe she at least deserves a showcase on that beautiful gown.

  82. Lou March 9, 2010 at 00:00 #

Zoe’s dress is my fave, followed by Vera’s, then Rachel’s and Elizabeth Banks’ outfits.

FC, will you be covering more of the Vanity Fair After Party outfits?

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 01:31 #

parties to post later. doing them now

  83. Linda March 9, 2010 at 00:22 #

The only ones I like are Meryl and Maggie, and I gave it to Meryl.

  84. Jeremy March 9, 2010 at 00:23 #

One big question: FC, you are gathering information on Oscar’s parties red carpet, right? Please say yes, I’ll patiently wait!

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 01:30 #

it will post tomorrow going through them now.

  85. Palm LOpez March 9, 2010 at 00:27 #

    Jennifer Lopez :) :) :)

  86. pipsqueak March 9, 2010 at 01:08 #

I just wanted to say that I’m so happy to discover this blog. You’re faster than Style.com in posting red carpet pictures and identifying designer labels. Totally awesome!

  87. pipsqueak March 9, 2010 at 01:48 #

Did anyone notice the timelessly elegant and beautiful Michelle Pfeiffer last night? If so, do you know whom she was wearing? She was in a red gown. My first guess is Armani, just because she was such a muse for Mr. Armani. But does anyone know who designed her gown?

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 01:53 #

      Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2010

  88. mari March 9, 2010 at 02:18 #

Sandra bullock’s body makes every single dress look amazing. HEr dress was pretty, but she was the one that make it look more so pretty. The other dresses didn’t really convinced me, except the goreous Jlo dress, but the pose in the pic you chose ruined it for me. Zoe’s dress was so pretty, I had to vote for it, altough Sandy looked better in hers.

  89. P. March 9, 2010 at 02:25 #

    Rachel, Cameron and Meryl .

I will give this to the Julie & Julia actress, as she looks stunning in white Chris March dress, great from head-to-toe , love her beau Jimmy Choo.

FC, Doesn’t Camilla Belle appeared on Oscar’s red carpet ? Where is that gorgeous girl, who always brighten on red carpet ?!

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 10:52 #

I didn’t see her. Not even at the parties were I expected to see her.

    • whitestroke March 11, 2010 at 02:28 #

TBH, I don’t think Camilla has much of a career at this point to appear at the Oscars.

  90. P. March 9, 2010 at 02:28 #

I wanted to see Liz(!) Banks on the poll, she deserves jointly with Meryl , be BDOTW

  91. Nicole March 9, 2010 at 03:00 #

    Where is Kate Winslet????
    She was positively STUNNING!!!!!
noticeably absent was my red carpet fave Anne Hathaway…. so sad:( i was waiting to see what she would wear

  92. Jojo March 9, 2010 at 04:45 #

Hi FC! Just wanted to say a big thankyou for your Oscar’s coverage, I am in Australia and was getting your updates and realised you must be nocturnal for this event!
Rachel McAdams was an absolute goddess, and gets my vote.

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 10:49 #

      You’re very welcome Jojo

  93. Julia March 9, 2010 at 05:07 #

So hard to choose! My vote eventually went to Cameron closely followed by Maggie, Meryl then Zoe.
I also really liked Carey and Vera – the more I saw her dress the more I loved it and I was kind of hoping she would be on the list, nevertheless all the above are pretty worthy nominations.

  94. jkrau March 9, 2010 at 05:42 #

Hey Fashion Critic, I have a challenge for you!

One of my favorite dresses of the night was worn by one of the anonymous Oscar-holding/presenter girls, the ones who guide people around the stage. It was canary yellow with a 1920s/bohemian vibe, and the only picture I’ve found so far of it online is here, behind Miley Cyrus onstage!

Any idea who it’s by?! I’m dying to know!

Thanks and keep up the awesome work! (I’ve been addicted to your site for years!)

  95. jkrau March 9, 2010 at 05:45 #

Also, Cameron Diaz was the EPITOME of old Hollywood glamour mixed with blond sunny California girl attitude—the perfect modern elegant bombshell. Why is she not getting more love? This is her best look EVER!

  96. Kasia March 9, 2010 at 06:36 #

Anna! I like the cut of the dress, particularly her colour matching to her complexion:)

  97. nicky March 9, 2010 at 07:57 #

i loved what zoe wore so i have to give it to her. she took a risk and it really made a wow impact. on the other hand, i also loved diane who also took a risk. it was a really romantic dress and she really worked it.

  98. Tracey March 9, 2010 at 08:38 #

Zoe looks like her purple dress is eating her black dress. Hmm, not such a good look. I love Dries and I think Maggie is very brave to wear it! But, I think you have missed out on the very best dressed, Helen Mirren.

  99. Laura March 9, 2010 at 08:55 #

I voted for Meryl but I thought Diane was by far the best dressed. She pulls off that dress with ease while Zoe was outdone by that big dress.

  100. Alenka March 9, 2010 at 11:11 #

    Dear FC:)

I’m suprise because your still didn’t put the pictures of Hilary Swank at Oscars red carpet. She looked amazing in Armani!

    p.s. I woted for Camron

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 11:16 #

      Dear Alenka,

As you can see I’ve started to post the Vanity Fair party pictures which Hilary Swank attended.

Please can you be patience and wait for the post rather than complaining.

It just shows a lack of appreciation for all the work i’ve done so far.

If I post everything in one go readers will have nothing to look forward to during the day.

I’m only one person on this blog, so please can you just be patience and stop complaining.

I’m working as hard as I can here.

  101. kath March 9, 2010 at 11:59 #

    meryl 😀 x

  102. MissMarlboroLites March 9, 2010 at 12:06 #

For me, it’s a toss up between SJP, Maggie and Meryl and in the end, it’s got to be SJP. The colour looks fab on her and I love the quirky column shape of the dress. I will also agree with JoltOfDavid, I thouhg that Cam’s look was a bit dated. I realise that the dress itself is essentially a piece of artwork but I expected something a bit more individual from her.

  103. MissMarlboroLites March 9, 2010 at 12:07 #

Also, keep going FC, I think you are doing a fabulous job :-)

  104. jill (polkadot23) March 9, 2010 at 18:05 #

a 1st for me: I’ve finally voted with (almost) the majority: Sandra. Because to me it’s a classic Academy Awards shape, and she looks fabulous.

When I do these quizzes I usually find I’ve chosen the one everyone hates.

Love this game so much, FC, I’m going to put a link on my top side bar in a few minutes. When are they going to start shipping you over to LA to report on it? Or are you already there? xx

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 18:29 #

      I’m based in London

    • Fashion Critic March 9, 2010 at 18:30 #

Sorry I just got what you meant LOL…Maybe next year.

  105. dominika March 9, 2010 at 18:39 #

You know, I actually had the red carpet recorded from E!, since it was at 1am for me and I watched it just now.
Of course, the first thing when I came to work on monday morning was clicking on your blog, so I already knew what I will see.
I thought I will vote for Anna Kendrick, even though she was a little washed out, she looked breathtaking. But when I saw Zoe Saldana on tv, I got chills. Say about WOW! I think it will be one of this historic dresses that we will talk about for years to come.

  106. Lu March 9, 2010 at 19:59 #

1.Diane Kruger was the best dressed
    2.Meryl Streep was runner up
    3.Amanda Seyfried looked lovely
    4.Kate Winslet
5.Maggie G & Rachel McAdams tie for 5th place because their dresses were a bit too casual for the Oscars

  107. Flutterbang March 10, 2010 at 00:56 #

I loved every one of those gowns – except for SJP, she didn’t really do it for me. I had sooo much trouble deciding who to vote for, but seeing as I had such a WOW moment when I saw Zoe in that Givenchy Couture, which was my favourite from the runway shows, I just had to vote for her.

  108. carla March 10, 2010 at 11:40 #

    Jennifer Lopez, she was stunning

  109. sonia March 10, 2010 at 14:38 #

what about diane kruger? she was absolutely sttunning. As always…

  110. whitestroke March 11, 2010 at 02:34 #

Much better this year. I was really disappointed by the Oscars last year fashion-wise. I think Meryl Streep looked the best. But I can’t seem to vote for her ’cause all these other runway dresses are teasing me. LOL It was between Rachel, Zoe, Maggie and SJP. I gave it to Rachel in the end, I think.

BTW all those complaints and lack of patience I’ve been reading lately while you were working tirelessly on the coverage really upset me. It makes me bang my head against the wall. You’re doing an amazing job, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Just ignore them.

  111. kath March 11, 2010 at 03:54 #

    3 way tie!!!
