2010 Oscars – Kate Winslet In YSL

English Rose Award
Kate Winlset was the Best Dressed Brit at the 2010 Oscars last night.

I love the silhouette of her Atelier Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati bustier gown, it made her look so very elegant and regal.

She was one of the few I got an old Hollywood vibe from, with the gown and side sweeping hair.

Her look was paired with Tiffany jewels, a YSL satin clutch an silver YSL sandals which complemented her metallic lurex gown.

If I could change one thing, I would’ve removed the necklace.

it’s a great necklace, but I agree that it doesn’t quite fit the silhouette/neckline.

Honestly? BORING. I’ve seen her in similar looks a million times.

I love it, it’s so simple, and as you said elegant and regal. I prefer this over last years dress and hair. She should of been in the BD poll.

I love the hair, make-up and necklace the best, the gown is just there, pretty minimal, but elegant.

Best dressed? Really? I thought the dress was fine, but made the normally ebullient Kate seem severe and staid. The color was not the best for her either. This would have looked marvelous on Kristin Stewart.

Frozen-in-place, side-sweeping hair did her no favors, either. Kate is radiant; why put her in a straight jacket?

I really dislike the bottom half of the dress – it looks so flat and sad and boring.

Hate the necklace. Didn’t go with the dress.
Hate the dress, too. She looks good in the garment, but the dress is ugly in my opinion.

I also like the necklace! She’s the winner, for me…

My favorite thing here is the necklace, the dress is a bit boring, but I do love she’s not in black again. The hair and make up are perfect,

I only like the necklace, not the silver gown. 🙂

She looked gorgeous. But i wasn’t wowed by her look.

I don’t like it…I only like the jewelry here.

the colour is gorgeous but i didnt like the design as much…it looked like she was wearing pants for a second

Yes, the way the skirt is falling is odd. Not wowed by this, but the colour is nice.

I’m so glad someone else picked up on this – I originally thought it was a top and skirt set. While I love the top half of the dress the bottom half doens’t work for me at all. It looks really separate from the top and I don’t like the front split. It also makes Kates wonderful figure look quite straight… where are those fab hips???

i love everything, but i agree i would only change the neclace and get rid of i larger pendant. beautiful as always though.

I am REALLY not a fan of the colour. I would have loved more colour.

Absolutely stunning. Both Kate and Cameron really looked like they were from the golden age of Hollywood last night. Gorgeous!
