Before the Christian Dior Fall 2010 presentation started we saw lightening, heard the crackle of a thunderstorm, plus the stomping hoofs of a horse, which instantly lead me to believe we were going to be treated to jodhpurs, horse riding gear and top hats.
I was right.
John Galliano infused the equestrian theme with light floaty mini dresses and ruffled chiffon gowns which I hope are Oscar bound.
These gowns were everything we’ve come to expect from the house of Dior: romantic and oozing with French femininity. They were sheer showing off the beautiful lingerie underneath.
Or were they lingerie. The line between outwear and underwear becomes finer and finer as Look 4 appears to be lingerie paired with a rich burgundy leather coat.
We saw many other leather pieces which were presented in burgundy, brown, orange. I loved the tan leather pants.
Most celebrities and Rachel Zoe “ooh” and “aah” in the front row at their favourite pieces. Charlize Theron had good poker face, because she gave away nothing.
I guess because she at that point she had already picked out her Oscar gown.
Thigh-high boots were paired with many looks in this presentation, and if they weren’t paired with boots they were paired with thigh-high socks.
Shoeblog.com has a full run down of the footwear from this presentation.
You have to watch Galliano taking his bow at the end. So theatrical as you would expect. Loved his performance as much as the show.
Anna Dello Russo arrived late at the Dior presentation.
After the show started I realised that she was kneeling on the floor to watch the show.
I love her even more now. Fabulous and down to earth. What a great gal.

I love how it looks like some of them are holding hands
I hope I see some of these at the Oscars, especially that second last one on the bottom and the green one on the top.
So great: Anna Dello Ruso is what every fashion editor should aspire to be. Her passion for fashion is so authentic!!
i’m in love with this collection head over heels definitely…
wow FC you picked my fave 5 from this collection in the second row. i would do anything to have that gorgeous maroon coloured dress in the middle.
I actually would love to see Catherine Zeta Jones try the maroon knitted number, sans the knee boots. Reds are sexy on her. Or on Zoe Saldana. I know they are two very different women, but I think the color and design would look scrumptious on them in two different dynamics.
Genius!! *-* .. this collection is AMAZING!
