Alberta Ferretti’s Fall 2010 presentation on Friday was magical with each look more beautiful than the previous.
The colour palette was muted with greys, nudes, teals, and black, but this allowed the exquisite details to stand out.
What I noticed whilst watching the presentation was the embellished sleeves on some of the dresses were actually two pieces in one. So don’t be surprised if you see an actress walking the red carpet with one of these looks sans embellished sleeves.
The gowns were exquisite.
The Magpie in me loved the embellished gowns, but my heart belonged to the nude embroidered lace gown with silk trims on the skirt.
I was happy to see Rachel Zoe in the front row, who was no doubt looking for Oscar gowns.
At the end I asked her what she thought of the presentation. She said, “many potential red carpet dresses”, much to my delight as so many deserve red carpet moments.
She had a lot to choose from.
A taupe chiffon gown with an embellished neckline, an amazing black tulle gown with a nude underlay, a blue drop-waist gown with double black sash accents plus embellished details and many many more.
I envy her job.
The coats were just as elegant as the gowns. I really liked the fur trims and the stand out green cape.

From my front row seat was very lucky to capture a close up of the embroidered ankle boots each of the models wore. Some were also embellished with rhinestones.
I love this video as you can see how beautifully those gowns will move on Oscar night…fingers crossed.

Gorgeous! One of my favourite designers! She keeps getting better and better!
The red carpet gowns are to die for! As for the short dresses, i see Emma Watson’s name spelled all over them. tres chic!
Breathtaking.
Have you ever thought about taking on a job like Rachels?
I would only love to be amongst all those beautiful gowns.
Realistically I don’t think I could do the job as good as Rachel.
She amazing at putting together the whole look. I would only be able to pick just the dress.
Now I seriously doubt that…. if that were true, you wouldn’t be able to comment so authoritatively on people’s accessories and shoes, not to mention tights, would you?
well for what its worth i think you would make a great stylist. you’re always up to date & you always seem to think of ways the outfit could be improved
so kind of you to say
Wow!!
This has to be most definitely one of Alberta Ferreti’s best collections ever!! Some really impressive gowns!!
Already getting pre-oscar excitement!!
And I just wonder how you’re going to manage to get through Fashion weeks and Oscar week-end!! I can only send you lots of energy from Spain!!
thank you.
I will be welcome.
Thankfully Paris is close to London so I will travel back home to cover the Oscars. I have to watch E!
As annoying as Seacrest is, he is also entertaining.
ryan truly is annoying plus he always forgets to ask the important question alot of the time “who are you wearing?” lol.
he does always forget.
I like the blue dress. Reminds me of one of Fortuny’s Delphos gowns.
this is truly a beautiful collection, all the dresses are too die for. the ankle boots are just WOW i would saell my granny just to get a pair of those.
I cannot stop staring at this collection. Definitely a favorite for Fall 2010.
