Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

Kate Hudson arrived at the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010 presentation in London yesterday wearing a military green coat with black fur lapels paired with black Burberry Prorsum strappy sandals.

After shedding her coat we saw Kate’s eye-popping mini dress.

This Burberry Prorsum green sequin mini is very much Kate’s red carpet staple: short, sassy, sequined and sexy.

As the saying goes, “If it ain’t broke….”

Last night in London, Kate Moss attended the “Love Ball” event hosted by Natalia Vodianova and Harper’s Bazaar.

The British supermodel looked stunning in a Valentino Spring 2010 Couture beige dress with a pink hemline.

When this collection was presented it was clear that Valentino were looking to attract younger clientèle, and it looks like they just found a very influential client.

I do love this dress on Kate, but I ADORE those leopard print Christian Louboutin Pigalle Pony Guepard pumps.

Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall 2010 presentation was not only the last show of fashion week, but it was also the last show to be held at Bryant Park before the venue switched to the Lincoln Center next season.

Before the show started the photogs serenaded Fern Mallis (VP for IMG) singing along to “Sweet Caroline” which was very emotional for the woman who’s made fashion week what it is.

Once the Ed Westwick, Rosario Dawson, Penn Badgley and Hayden Panettiere took their seats the show began.

Tommy Hilfiger does preppy like no other, but this collection was title “Preppy With A Pop”

The ‘Pop’ came via mixing boyfriend tailoring with nipped-waist feminine pieces.

We were also presented with A-line skirts, turtleneck sweaters, cropped mohair pea coats a variety of eye popping colours and trench coats.

My favourite pieces were the sleevless trench coats, the double layer blazer and the cute forest green dress above, plus that winter white snood looks very cozy.

No wonder the cast of Gossip Girl were in the front row. These looks would not look out of place at NYU or Browns.

At the end of the presentation before he took his bow, Tommy Hilfiger thanked Fern Mallis and former CFDA president Stan Herman for their organisation of Fashion Week, then ended his speech saying “Now onward and upward to Lincoln Center” before Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” played loudly over the speakers.

The perfect way to end Fashion Week.

At the Tibi Fall 2010 presentation during New York Fashion Week, I was busy wondering which pieces I would want to wear from this collection next year.

Olivia Palermo (current girl crush) was also at the same presentation, but she was picking out what she wanted to wear this week.

The lucky girl has been seen during London Fashion Week wearing some key pieces from the Tibi Fall 2010 collection.

She was first spotted wearing a white Tibi pussy bow blouse and Tibi check shorts when she attended the Christopher Kane Fall 2010 presentation.

I love this photo taken by Vanessa Jackman. It’s such a cute look and it’s so well put together.

Whilst some celebs are copying head-to-toe runway looks, Olivia is thinking outside the box.

Many websites have said that Olivia wore Burberry to the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010 presentation, but she actually wore looks from Tibi Fall 2010 collection again.

This time she wore a aubergine paillette beaded zip front jacket paired with a leather skirt.

The look was paired with her (or should I say Alexa Chung’s) Mulberry Alexa bag.

At the Topshop Unique Fall 2010 presentation in London on Saturday, Olivia wore a Topshop Graffiti multi print mini dress by Unique.

She paired her dress with a khaki printed jacket, which shouldn’t work as it has a clashing print, but I really like this look.

All 3 looks are adorable, even though she paired them all with tights.

If you had to pick one look to put up for BDOTW, which would it be?

During New York Fashion Week I was invited to the Philosophy Fall 2010 presentation.

When I arrived at the venue where the presentation was being held Ms Ferretti was in the foyer to meet her guests.

This made it feel like she was inviting you to her home which was very special.

The collection was elegant mix of sensual femininity with masculine touches including stiff collars, thick black belts, double breasted blazers and workman style boots.

On the feminine side I loved the sensuality of the ruffles, lace, embroidery and satin ribbons.

The elegant evening gowns were embroidered with delicate sequins and some of these looks were paired with cropped sweaters or a long wool coat.

I loved the contrast of this collection which gelled so beautifully.
