Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

Stella McCartney was one of the many guests who attended the “Love Ball London” event in London hosted by Natalia Vodianova and Harper’s Bazaar.

As much as I love Stella and admire both her work and her style, this dress should really have been saved for at least the Spring.

I love this floral Stella McCartney Spring 2010 dress with the flouncy hem, but when paired with tights its just breaks my heart.

I know fashion is moving faster and faster, but lets let the snow thaw before we start getting out the floral mini dresses.

We were all a tad surprised when Giorgio Armani first collaborated with Lady Gaga by designing her Grammys Awards looks, well they’ve collaborated again.

This time Giorgio Armani has designed selected looks for her current “The Monster Ball” world tour, which kicked off last week.

The looks have lots of sparkle and eye-poking structured.

I particularly love that lobster like one-sleeve look.

Each look is paired with specially-made matching shoes and sunglasses by Armani.

Prada also created a dress for Lady GaGa’s “The Monster Ball Tour”.

The custom-made 18th century style dress is a combination of antique and modern elements.

I can totally picture GaGa working all these looks on stage, such a shame I won’t be able to see the look live.

Leona Lewis performed at the “Love Ball London” event in London hosted by Natalia Vodianova and Harper’s Bazaar this week.

The British singer is determined to shake off the “boring” tag by trying add a bit of sexy edginess to her look.

At this event she wore a copper William Tempest Spring 2010 one-sleeved gown with a padded shoulder.

I like that Leona is experimenting with fashion, but I do not like this gown on her as it doesn’t flatter her figure and the bodice is ill-fitting.

Her edgier looks don’t feel natural at all but there is hope. Rihanna started out wearing bubblegum pink Herve Leger dresses and look at her now.

*Sings* “It will all get better in time.” I hope.

Leona used this event to show off her new tattoo which runs from the nape of her neck to the middle of her back.

If she shaves one side of her head I will totally give up on her.

This week I attended the Peter Pilotto Fall 2010 presentation in London expecting to see many vivid prints and the design duo didn’t let me down.

The clashing retro prints were eye-catching on a colour palette of chocolate and various shades of orange.

There was a strong theme of patchwork panels of leather, fur, tweed and silver foil which wickedly reflected light in the dim lit venue of the Selfridges car park to add to overall futuristic feel of this presentation.

The Nicholas Kirkwood for Peter Pilotto heels were also a hightlight.

I particularly loved the thigh-high boots which were made of strands of leather. From the pictures you would be forgiven if you thought they were pants or leggings.

I can definitely see this collection being worn on the red carpet by Rihanna or Jennifer Connelly.

Actress Son Ye Jin looked so cute wearing a Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 baby blue dress to a meet and greet with fans in early January.

I love this dress on her but the thud at her feet loses her many points.

Her brown gladiator-style sandals weren’t the right choice of shoes for this dress.

The tan runway belt was paired with the dress, but it clashes with her brown heels.

A few weeks later actress Jamie King wore the same dress to “The Art Of Elysium’s 3rd Annual Black Tie Charity Gala” in LA.

I far prefer her choice of shoe and think that the silver of her clutch bag also compliments the baby blue really nicely.

For styling this look better Jamie wins for me.

I know many of you are tired of seeing my mug on this blog, but I wanted to thank American Vogue for featuring me on their “Most Wanted” list.

Click here to read my favourite things from 1 to 10.

I’m still waiting for the main picture from the shoot so I can tell you all about my Vogue adventure, but here is one of the 5 looks I had from the shoot.

I was wearing a asymmetrical white Tommy Hilfiger dress, with Kaufman Franco pants and a Rick Owens jacket.

Thanks to Michelle for the heads up.

** Thanks for all your nice comments xx
