Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

“Gossip Girl” actress Jessica Szohr wore this stunning Christian Dior Spring 2009 floor length gown to the “Costume Institute Gala” in New York last year.

I love the edgy structured leather bodice of this dress, with the contrasting floaty chiffon skirt.

Rumer Willis wore the same dress earlier this year to the “The Art of Elysium’s 3rd Annual Gala Heaven Event” in LA.

I don’t like this dress on Rumer at all, as it does nothing for her body shape, so Jessica wins this for me by default as I don’t think either do justice to this amazing gown.

Natalia Vodianova was the gorgeous host of the “Love Ball” which was held at the Roundhouse in London this week.

She arrived wearing a red Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 puff ball dress which no doubt drew a lot of attention.

Aside from that bag, I love this look from head-to-toe.

It’s cute, flirty and has a devilishly naughty side to it.

Her hair worn up was perfect for this look with those sleeves, plus those burgundy can can heels add to the fun factor.

Paris Hilton celebrated her birthday at TAO Nightclub in Las Vegas with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt on the weekend.

The reality TV star seems to be keeping her birthday celebrations low key these days. Remember the time she had 5 birthday parties in 5 different countries?

Paris likes to mix up her looks. We mostly see her wearing high-street looks from Bebe, Topshop and Lipsy, but every now and then she will opt for a high-end designer.

For her special night she opted for a white Preen Spring 2009 dress with sexy mesh inserts.

She went the matchy matchy route by pairing her dress with white Louboutin plus she added Chanel jewels.

The dress is a nice length, but I would’ve preferred silver heels.

Fashion Air

Before boarding my plane to Milan this morning I was shocked to see Lara Stone waiting alongside me.

She was talking to her companion about wanting to give up smoking, but won’t do so until after her wedding as she doesn’t want to be a grumpy bride. How cute.

On the plane I also saw the Editor of Elle UK, Lorraine Candy, and other editors who’s names I can’t remember then Anna Wintour boarded with Mario Testino.

OMG.

Those who have been following me on twitter will know I bottled out of talking to Anna on several occasions during New York Fashion Week.

With Sydne telling me it’s fate and that I must talk to her I decided to ‘man up’ and make this the moment.

I took a deep breath and approached her in baggage claim.

I thanked her for featuring me in her magazine to which she smiled held out her hand and shook mine *OMG*

She thanked me for being a part of the feature and said it was a pleasure.

It was like meeting the Queen.

Hang on, she is the Queen of Fashion darrrrrliing.

She was wearing this beautiful navy blue Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 dress with a fur coat and she was carrying a grey suede Mulberry East West Bayswater bag.

Yes, even as I was quaking I still managed to spot what she was wearing.

This week I was happy to see Kylie Minogue back to her fabulous self on the red carpet at the Elle Style Awards.

I was also happy to see her out on the red carpet again last night, when she arrived at the ‘Miss Polly Rae: The All New Hurly Burly Show’ press opening night in London.

As I flicked through the pictures I was very disappointed not to find a picture of Kylie without that darn sheer cardigan.

The cardigan isn’t the main issue, more the way she’s buttoned it.

Yes it must have been cold on that red carpet, but her red leopard print Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2010 dress deserved to be shown off in all its beautiful splendor.
