Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

When I saw Anna Kendrick on the red carpet at the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards last night, I said “This is what she should’ve worn to the BAFTAs”.

The actress was a knock out in this Elie Saab Fall 2010 Couture strapless gown which I simply adore.

Her white strapless gown is accented with circular appliqués and hints of crystals cascading down her gown.

This is a stunning princess gown if I ever saw one.

As much as I’m hyperventilating over Anna in this gown, I’m also feeling a huge sense of disappointment that she didn’t consider this gown for a grander stage like the BAFTAs or the Oscars.

Despite that she’s still BDOTW worthy.

After the “Alice In Wonderland” Royal World Premiere last night, Mia Wasikowska changed for the after party for the movie.

She opted for a black RM by Roland Mouret Spring 2010 jumpsuit paired with tight and black heels.

I hate to be predictable, but I hate the tights.

By wearing tights the asymmetrical hem of the jumpsuit and a lot of the detail on the bottom half are swallowed up by the tights.

Bare legs and strappy sandals would’ve have been much more appealing imo.

Other than that this is a great look for the young actress.

Anne Hathaway looked radiant when she walked the red carpet at the “Alice In Wonderland” Royal World Premiere in London last night.

As beautiful as she looked, it found it very hard to get excited about her Vivienne Westwood dress.

I should’ve been excited as it had all my key red carpet ingredients.

It’s sassy, it’s sexy, it’s sparkling, but it just feels like I’ve seen it many times before.

As much as I love Westwood’s work. Her signature red carpet dresses all have a touch of de ja vu about them, as they’re all cut the same with the same bodice and neckline.

I don’t want to take anything away from Anne because she looks stunning, but is this BDOTW worthy? I’ll let you decide.

The Moschino Cheap & Chic Fall 2010 presentation was a lot of fun.

It was held in at the Maison Moschino, which is the brands new hotel.

Normally models walk the runway with stern expressions, but this one was very different.

The models each took on a character which represented many different types of women who would leave a hotel.

We saw the typical jet setter, a glamour girl, a rock chick, a businesswoman and a saucy maid.

There was even a Kelly girl, who walked the runway with a Hermes Kelly bag on her head.

The clothes were as fun as the presentation. We saw studded jackets, khaki pants, fur stoles, pink satin dresses, white ruffled blouses and sequin dresses.

All of the models wore ankle boots. Some were accented with studded details.

Luggage was a huge part of this presentation. Some were printed in black and white, whilst others were in a dark oak colour with the Moschino logo in black print.

After the finale British singer Pixie Lott came on stage to sing a few songs.

I was very impressed with her. Girlfriend can really sing.

I have a very busy day of back to back shows today. You can see my schedule on the Facebook page.

Mia Wasikowska walked the red carpet on a cold and rainy night in London for the “Alice In Wonderland” Royal World Premiere yesterday.

I have a feeling her Valentino Fall 2009 Couture gown may have a 50/50 spilt of love and hate.

I LOVE this gown for many reasons.

Mia looks so tall and statuesque in this gown.

She’s doesn’t get lost in it, which would have been easy to do when you haven’t got the height of Erin O’Connor or Cate Blanchett.

I think it’s the gown is perfect for the occasion as it has a fantasy element to it with the large poufy skirt and leafy embroidered details.

Mia did the right thing by letting the gown do all the talking, she didn’t make her look too fussy by adding accessories.

I’d loved to know your thoughts on this look.
