Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Simple Yet Stunning Award
On Friday night, stars took to the red carpet for the 41st NAACP Image Awards in LA.

Selena Gomez was one of the many stars who looked gorgeous on the night.

The teen actress looked beautiful wearing a Georges Hobeika Signature Spring 2010 gown.

I normally moan about Selena dressing too old for her age, but on this occasion I love the simplicity of this look.

When teen queen Taylor Swift is dazzling us with embellishments each time she hits the red carpet, Selena opts for a simple ivory strapless gown which has is gathered on the bodice and waist.

She could’ve then opted to over accessorize to make a big statement, but just dark navy earrings and silver clutch complete the look.

I think she looks so good that she even outshines the model.

The models strutted the runway way 2 by 2 during the Emporio Armani Fall 2010 presentation.

Sometimes they walked wearing identical looks, other times wearing complementary looks.

The show was titled “Uptown Girl” which mixed classic elegance with a fresh approach to Emporio Armani’s design aesthetic.

The colour palette – as expected – was mostly black and greys, but the stand out colour were shades of orange which really popped in the dim lit venue at Armani’s headquarters.

Model walked the runway wearing classic skirt suits, masculine pinstriped suits, capes draped over one shoulder, fur coats, floaty skirts, sculptured dresses and sexy blouses.

I loved the rose theme which was evident on a few pieces. These looks still managed to look ultra feminine despite the punky hair cuts the models had.

There wasn’t a finale walk-through like most shows, but I love how the audience claps when certain stand-out pieces take the runway.

It was a respectful sign to Mr Armani that they loved and appreciated those particular looks.

Two petite women in big couture gowns were the winners this week.

Anna Kendrick was your favourite in her stunning Elie Saab Couture gown with a flowing train.

She’d done a 180 after disappointing many of us at the BAFTAs to look elegant in her couture gown at the 2th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.

I loved Mia Wasikowska in her Valentino Couture gown for many different reasons.

Mostly because the gown is beautiful, but also because the gown was perfect for the “Alice In Wonderland” Royal World premiere and the star stood like she was 6ft tall in her gown.

Ashley Olsen was a close second in your affections, so it was a great week for Couture.

Anika Noni Rose glammed up for the 12th Annual Costume Guild Awards last night.

The star of the animated feature “The Princess and the Frog” looked every inch a princess in her blue asymmetrical David Meister gown.

I love the colour on her plus that jeweled detail on her hip was a nice touch.

Her old Hollywood hairstyle added to the regal nature of her look.

Stunningly beautiful and a worthy BDOTW contender.

Were Anna Kendrick and Anna Paquin really at the same event?

Because you could get to more different look at the 12th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Anna arrived in a stunning Elie Saab gown, whereas Anna arrived wearing an futuristic Marios Schwab Fall 2009 mini dress.

Anna seems to be the current red carpet bad girl who’s going against the grain.

At the SAG Awards you’ll remember she wore an reptile print Alexander McQueen mini dress which many of you didn’t think was event appropriately, well oops she’s done it again.

I love this look mostly because she tried something different and I just love that print.

The icing on the cake would’ve been if she’d tied her hair back in a tight pony and lost the necklace.
