Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

Camilla Belle attended the “Father Of Invention” premiere last night during Berlin’s Film Festival.

Looking fabulous in fuchsia Camilla dazzles wearing a Marchesa chiffon draped dress with an embroidered bodice detail.

Her look was accessorized with an eggplant Marchesa satin rose clutch which created a nice contrast.

The colour of this gown is amazing against her milky complexion, and I LOVE the nude lips.

Some times a nude lip doesn’t always work for the wearer, but in this case it enhances Camilla’s features.

Not that I needed much motivation, but this has got me very much excited for the Marchesa Fall 2010 presentation tomorrow.

Back in December I was invited by Vogue US to attend a photoshoot here in New York.

The feature focuses on bloggers who’s internet presence shapes and influences the fashion and style world for the March 2010 “Power” issue.

I haven’t yet seen the actual issue, but I found this link so I guess it’s no longer a secret and I can finally share it with you guys.

I can’t wait to run out and buy a copy of the magazine tomorrow.

I love the final picture they picked at the end of the video. I was scared of being cropped out.

It’s been a pretty amazing month.

I’ll tell you all about the shoot once I read the article.

** Thank you for your comments. Normally I would reply to you all, but I’m running between shows. Back to back today.

Anna Kendrick attended the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA yesterday.

Anna is currently up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Up in the Air” co-staring George Clooney.

The brunette actress looked beautiful wearing a Gianfranco Ferre Spring 2010 ivory silk organza top paired with the same skirt from the Spring 2010 collection.

I much prefer the runway styling, but I appreciate that Anna made this look work for her.

The peplum would’ve made her look much shorter, so tucking it in was to her advantage plus it gives her more shape.

Gold accessories including Jimmy Choo “Frost” heels and a Jimmy Choo “Tube” clutch complete her look.

Carey Mulligan attended the 82nd Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon in LA yesterday sporting a new crop and colour.

My immediate reaction was to hate it, but I’m guessing that’s from the shock.

I find it a bit strange and very risky to be switching things up so dramatically in the middle of awards season, but I guess with a crop which isn’t very versatile, a colour change was needed to keep her look fresh.

The ‘do might be new, but the designer is the same – Prada.

The LBD has a keyhole detail and a peplum at the waist which is becoming usual of her nice and nice style.

Black accessories complete the look along with bold red lips.

So how do you feel about Carey’s hair?

Love it or hate it?

Emily Mortimer first wore this Chanel dress from the Paris-Monte Carlo Pre-Fall 2007 collection to the “Costume Institute Benefit Gala” in New York way back in May 2007.

I think Emily looks really cute here and I like that she’s gone for a similar coloured shoe.

The gold of her belt was a nice bit of styling, as it really pops against the blue of her dress.

Leigh Lezark then wore this dress to Chanel’s “Fete D’Hiver Fall Gala” in November 2009.

I adore this dress on Leigh as I think she looks so elegant in this royal blue, yet it still reflects her edgier side.

I can’t understand why she chose to wear black pumps though. It seems like such an unthoughtful end to such a great outfit.

As Emily styled it better she wins for me.

Tadashi Shoji’s Fall 2010 collection is quite easily my favourite so far this fashion week.

I think my jaw is still at the tents.

Tadashi Shoji was inspired by patterns, shapes and textures. He experimented with new techniques to bring us a truly fabulous collection.

The colour palette consisted of teals, rich purples, greens plus shimmering silver and bronze.

The tiered and frayed cocktail dresses were playfully girlie but in a grown up way.

Metallic dresses gave the collection an edge with some accented with fringed detailing on the shoulders, whilst we also saw flirty lace dresses and gowns.

It wasn’t all about evening wear. We also saw some day dresses including one long-sleeved ivory number.

I loved the pailettes covered dresses, especially the asymmetrical gown above. It made my heart stop as it shimmered down the runway.

The fan pleated finale gown worn by Bruna is still giving me goosebumps. My neighbour and I gasped as the model walked the runway.

Fellow blogger Sydne tweeted “Wouldn’t Lucy Liu look majestic in Tadashi Shoji’s final fan pleated gown?”

Oh yes. Let’s pray.

Celebrity guests included Alfre Woodard, Adrienne Bailon, and Sherri Shepherd.

I’m so excited I could use my own pictures for this post.
