Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: February 2010

Carey Mulligan was the one person I was desperate to see on the 2010 BAFTAs red carpet tonight.

She was rushed to the top of the red carpet to ensure her picture was taken early, but when walked back down the carpet to talk to the media and fans.

Had I placed bets on her wearing Lanvin or Prada I would’ve lost my money, because she arrived wearing a stunning Vionnet Pre-Fall 2010 custom made gown with a black sash tied to the waist paired with YSL heels and Fred Leighton jewels.

She was easily one of my favourites of the night. Her gown was different, elegant and I can’t gush enough about her new do.

My only criticism was the print on the front of the gown. It kinda feels like a piece of material was wrapped around her waist.

I wish the floral print flowed more freely.

As we all stood in the fashion pit waiting for celebs, Tom Ford really put a smile on our faces tonight at the 2010 BAFTAs in London.

He was of course wearing a self designed suit, which he said he didn’t make especially for the occasion.

He is as devilishly confident, arrogant (in a sexy way) and gorgeous as you would imagine.

I tried to get a scoop by asking him when his women’s wear line would be coming out, but he just said, “Soon”.

The picture to the right was taken by Nicky from the Sun, who caught him doing a cute Zoolander pose.

“Atonement” actress Romola Garai walked the red carpet at the 2010 BAFTAs tonight as she was presenting the award for ‘Make Up and Hair’.

With her hair tightly pulled back she wore a strapless Erdem Fall 2009 sweetheart neckline mini dress.

For such a pretty winter floral dress, the shoes were very boring.

She was very honest on the red carpet when we asked her about her dress.

She said, “I wanted to wear British and I just saw it was like I want to have that, so if I wear it that might mean I might be able to have it.”

Smart girl.

When Anna Kendrick arrived on the 2010 BAFTAs red carpet I was glad she decided to walk straight passed the Fashion Pit because I would have only had a few words for her.

“Me No Likey.”

Where was the drop dead gorgeous gown I was expecting from her?

Why was she wearing a cocktail dress? Save this for the Grammy’s or MTV Music/Movie Awards please.

Why was her Emilio Pucci mini so shapeless, and why does it have an illusion insert going down the sides?

Major disappointment for me, but her gold Jimmy Choo’s were cute though as was the gold detailing on the dress.

Trudie Styler walked the red carpet sans Sting tonight at the 2010 BAFTAs.

She was wearing a black Victoria Beckham Spring 2010 dress with Prada shoes which got a universal thumbs down from the fashion pit.

This look didn’t work for me as Trudie is more colourful than this, plus the birds nest on her head didn’t quite work with her cute mini dress.

She said she picked the dress herself because she wanted to wear a British designer and she also praised Victoria Beckham for making such amazing clothes.

She also said that so many people are wearing VB right now, which got me thinking does she really a love this VB dress or was she jumping on the bandwagon?

Audrey Tautou was one of the stars I was most excited to see tonight.

The petite star was the only one who couldn’t hide how cold she was as she walked the red carpet tonight.

She did look so cute wearing a pink Lanvin Spring 2010 dress which she styled like the runway with one sleeve off-the-shoulder.

Her red accessories were so very refreshing.

One of the best tonight.
