Last night Lily Allen was one of the many performers at the 2010 Brit Awards in London.
She walked the red carpet sporting an Anna Wintour style bob and a Chanel Pre-Fall 2010 black gown.
The black gown itself is exquisite.
I love the high red embroidered neckline and the jeweled detail on the waist, but this gown is too grand for Lily Allen.
Cate Blanchett and Erin O’Connor would’ve looked so statuesque in this gown, but Lily barely pulls it off.
Sometimes I get the Chanel Lily collabo, but on this occasion it didn’t quite work for me.
Cute bob though.

The dress looks overwelming on her, but she’s lovely. Her bob is amazing!
hate the dress, the hair looks like a cheap halloween wig.

This is too much gown for Ms. Allen. Perhaps if the skirt had been slightly narrower and the dress did not have a train it may have worked. Height, height, height is the main prerequisite for a gown like this, and unfortunately Lily is a little lacking in that department.
i love it!! i’m so glad she’s not afraid to try different things. yes, it would’ve looked better on cate blanchet but we always expect that from cate. this is lily, and i think she looked amazing. all the other girls just wore cocktail dresses
It’s an interesting experiment providing she doesn’t repeat it. It’s not really her style but it’s nice as a one-off.
Don’t like the dress on the model or Lily Allen. It’s a little too Elvira Mistress of the Dark for me.

if u put ur hand in the first layer of the dress covering the train ull see itll looked nice if it was shorter… her hair its amazing and her make up too
i think the bob can be cute.. but not with this dress. i barely see her face, enclosed by the grand dress and her bob. if it wasn’t for the bob, she could have pulled it off better, imo

Usually I never get past Lily’s face to notice what she wears as she is so compellingly pretty, but this time I’m having trouble finding her face – too much hair and dress for my taste.
If only the length had stopped at that first layer she might have pulled it off.
I like the dress on Lilly way more than on the model. What I don’t think works is the hair, which is too much for her face.
Minus the hair, I like it.
