Monique Lhuiller’s Fall 2010 was full of red carpet gowns, but on this occasion I was more interested in the shorter styles.
The green sequined dress was to die for. I just hope Sophia Bush who was in the front row was taking notes on that sassy number.
The collection was inspired by Chinese warriors.
Shades of red from crimson to merlot plus the dragon printed jacquards pieces reflected the Chinese warrior theme.
Touches of lace, tulle and chiffon inject Hollywood glam to the gowns and shorter styles, but Lhuillier also presented Chanel-esqe tweed suits.
My favourite look was the red strapless gown with the burst of blooming rosettes on the skirt, which looked better in real life to the picture above.
The collection was has a lot of varying strong silhouettes. I felt Lhuillier had deliberately tried to make this collection edgier, but it only worked for me on a few pieces.
