Beyonce Knowles presented her debut fragrance ‘Heat’ at a star-studded launch party last night in New York City’s Union Square.
Let’s discuss this, because after Beyonce Knowles stunning Grammy Award red carpet and performance looks – sans earrings and silly string in her hair – this feels like step back.
The singer wore a flamenco style asymmetrical Marc Bouwer Spring 2010 red dress.
What makes me laugh about this look is her pose, which is so “America’s Next Top Model” episode one.
I can imagine Miss J saying “Hey girl, do you like my dress?” then imitating her pose in a broke down fashion.
Something had to give with this dress, either it was the bow on the bodice or the asymmetrical ruffled hem because the dress is too cutesy for a woman of her age.
She may have opted for the black Casadei peep-toes to tone down the look somewhat, but who’s looking at the pumps when the dress is so busy?

I hate this dress. It looks so cheap.
Like always, Beyonce, too much. Try to keep it simple next time, please. The colour is nice and the shoes too, but this ruffle and the bow, and the hair…
Really?? I actually like this look more than her Grammy choices.
Me too. I actually kind of hate her Grammy dress…that’s harsh, but it’s so boxy.
haha i’m glad i’m not the only one…i did NOT like her grammy dress and didn’t think it was flattering on her amazing body
She looks like a christmas tree decoration!
LMAO
The other dress was soooooo much better.
I like her her here better than at the Grammys. This dress is nice as well, it just needs to be fitted better, pulled up a bit higher and have her pose better without holding the skirt.
I really wish she would ditch that awful hair color.
Yes! She has worn some beautiful wigs in much darker shades when she’s not working. But as soon as it’s promo time…
I disagree – she looks lovely! Also, “a woman of her age”?? She’s in her mid 20s! She’s hardly over the hill!!
she claims to be 28.
I’m in my early 30s and I wouldn’t wear a dress like this.
I’m 27 and there is no way I would wear this. And if she did chose to wear it, she needed to add something to give it an edge. Like pull back her hair or something… And def. not stand like she is taking her Easter picture!
Hell, am 18, and even I wouldn’t wear this! Not even for some crazy costume event.
LOL on the pose. You are right Miss Jay would so clown her. I dont like the fit around the mid section and hips. The dress she wore while sitting down with the press to discuss HEAT, was a lot better.
The other dress she changed into was a lot better than this. Not liking at all. I will say that I like her hair straightened better. Red looks really good on her too.
HUUUUUUGE step back so disappointed about this dress, i though it was house of dereon LOL this is horrible . Too bad !
Except for the pose, I love this look
hot mess!
hate the dress on her, hate the hair, hate the pose and hate the shoes! to be completely honest marc bouwers makes some alright pieces, but most of his stuff is just pure tacky!
this is the kind dress someone would wear to prom, plus this dress in my opinion needs silver strappy sandals.
lol! robbie, you always make me laugh.but this is really welcome to tackyville. girlfriend, you are no young girl anymore so, just let it go…
thanks, i hope i make you laugh in a good way.
i love the dress on model, on beyonce i don’t like it at all…
this dress looks AMAZING on beyonce. i think it’s really cute, and it’s certainly appropriate for her age
I love her but I feel that this dress is just too much. The color, the flamenco thing. However, on her Heat debut on Macy’s she looked amazing.
I think she looks cute.
Granted the dress is ugly, but the whole problem with the thing is that it’s the wrong dress for her body shape. Being a “curvy” woman myself, there is no way that I would wear that drop waist where the seam is sitting under by butt. And because of this, the asymmetrical hem doesn’t even look, well asymmetrical.
The peep-toe pumps are by Casadei (gosh, she really loves Italian shoes
).
don’t we all
Thanks
