Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Front row at Givenchy’s Spring 2010 Couture show was singing superstar Ciara.

Ciara was wearing a look from Givenchy’s Spring 2010 collection and the leather skirt part of this ensemble really suits her rock chic vibe.

Because she’s opted for bare legs, I actually really like the heavy wedged boots with the look.

FC and I were kind of surprised to see Ciara doing Couture Week and even more so when we found out that Givenchy had thrown a party in her honour.

At the Givenchy party held in her honour, Ciara wore a look from the Fall 2009 collection.

I LOVE this on her. It’s not something I would expect to see her in and I adore how the velvet jacket nips her in under the bust.

Apart from her choice of black pumps, Ciara has worn this look as shown on the runway.

I’m really pleased she wore it with the neck scarf which is has knotted under her chin in a cute bow.

I’m really loving this Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture offering from Riccardo Tisci.

The twenty two looks were verging on the edgier side of couture, with disco-esque jumpsuits that look liked they just walked off the film set of “Saturday Night Fever”.

Tailoring was also out in full force with stunning black evening jackets with jet black velvet lapels.

I especially loved the white tuxedo jacket from which layers of black and white feathers cascaded.

Evening gowns were intense purples with bubble-like ruched hems and embellished bodices.

I also fell in lust with the black lace pieces, which added a touch of softer androgyny.

This collection undoubtedly brought the fun factor to the runway and I’m hoping to see at least one of these patterned jumpsuits on some of our braver red carpet ladies.

Eva Green first wore this Christian Dior Fall 2009 fuchsia embroidered gown to the amfAR Cinema Against Aids Benefit during Cannes Film Festival in May of last year.

I usually heart Eva, but here not so much.

Her hair and make up kinda makes her look a little crazy, the eyes especially are WAY too heavy for her.

And I’m not sure that this shade is such a good match with her pale skin.

Carina Lau then wore this dress to the Huabiao Film Awards” in August 2009.

On Carina, I love it.

The gown looks so beautiful against her skin tone and her subtle hair and make up allows the beautiful embellishments to speak for themselves.

I also prefer this dress worn without the sleeves, as Carina has done.

For me Carina is the clear winner.

Dita Von Teese, Elsa Pataky and Olga Kurylenko were the guests of Elie Saab at his Spring 2010 Couture show earlier today.

Our hearts stopped when Dita walked in wearing an electric blue Elie Saab Fall 2009 plunging dress.

Stunning in pictures, jaw-dropping gorgeous in the flesh with not a single hair out of place. She makes me ache with her level of perfection.

Elsa opted for a short sassy red Spring 2010 belted dress with black strappy heels.

Olga is stunning in the flesh. She happily spoke to reporters as she made her way to her seat wearing an Elie Saab Fall 2009 dove grey dress.

I’m not crazy about her choice of heels, but when your face is that gorgeous who’s looking at your feet?
