Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: January 2010

Newly single Reese Witherspoon showed no signs of the ‘break up blues’ as she walked the red carpet at the Saks’ Unforgettable Evening Benefiting EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel last night.

I love the Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2010 dress with a beautiful black lace overlay and black satin belt, but I prefer the length of this dress on the runway.

In saying that I couldn’t see Reese sporting such a short dress, so the dress works very well for her and the length is event appropriate.

What I would’ve liked to have seen was a different hairstyle. It feels like she’s hasn’t changed it since her break up with Ryan Phillippe.

An up do would’ve worked well with this look.

Lengthening the dress. Was that an upgrade or downgrade for Reese?

Kate Moss wasn’t the only one wearing a look from the Valentino Resort 2010 collection last night.

Teen singer Taylor Swift opted for red one-sleeved Valentino Resort 2010 asymmetrical dress which hugs her tall slender frame.

I love this dress on Taylor. It’s cute, young, fun and event appropriate without being boring.

Her trademark curly blonde locks are swept to one side, whilst she added a touch of rouge to her lips.

The Princess of Sparkle, didn’t go without any bling. Her gold peep-toes twinkled as brightly as her clutch.

Definitely a contender for BDOTW. We normally only seen her on the list wearing a heavily embellished dress, so this will be really refreshing.

Please be upstanding, the Queen is back.

Cate Blanchett is currently in Tokyo to promote her favorite brand of skincare, SKII.

We’ve been picking Armani Prive Spring 2010 wish lists for Cate, but on this occasion she joined Asian celebrities on stage wearing a jeweled red silk Alberta Ferretti Fall 2009 dress.

The colour really pops, and I’m grateful that she opted for the red instead of the black.

The high neckline elongates her even more.

I love the quiff, but I’m a tad disappointed that the split in her dress which revealed the tops of the tights.

This is why I hate tights, they ruin everything. j/k

Later in the evening a dinner party was held in Cate’s honour and it was here she floors me.

The actress was breath-taking wearing a Chanel dress from the Chanel Paris-Shanghai Métiers D’Arts Pre-Fall 2010 collection.

Her black organza gown is exquisite with the gold trims and floral embroidered details.

Gold heels, diamond earrings and simple make-up complete the look.

Between seeing Dita yesterday and Cate in these pictures, I’ve reached my perfection quota for the month.

BDOTW contender. I’m predicting a 3 clothes-horse race.

To celebrate the magazine’s 10th anniversary, 10 Magazine have feature David and Victoria Beckham in a double cover issue.

Throughout the shoot, by photographer Cedric Buchet, David is dressed as an oiled up mechanic whilst Victoria poses in a number of high fashion ensembles, including  the Victoria Beckham peplum dress, which both she and Blake Lively have been seen in before.

Victoria is also seen wearing Roland Mouret and Antonio Berardi in the editorial as she sports a new softer, wavy hairstyle which she showed-off a few months ago.

Throughout the editorial Mr and Mrs Beckham talk about their fashion ventures – Victoria’s self titled collections and David’s line for Adidas.

Here are some extracts from the interview but you can see more at 10magazine.com.

Victoria on her celebrity clientèle: “My dresses are for women of all different shapes and sizes. Actually, the one I tried on yesterday was the one Jennifer wore. And who’d have thought I’d be the same size as Jennifer Lopez!”

To celebrate her line of handbags for Longchamp, Kate Moss attended the launch party at the Ritz Club in Paris.

The model/designer was wearing a black lace Valentino dress from the Resort 2010 collection.

Kate has chosen to wear a shorter version of this dress and with those legs – why not.

I’m not usually a fan of a black and white colour palette but I love this cropped white jacket against the delicate black lace of the dress.

I really like the layered neckline of this dress with the asymmetrical sash and scalloped bodice.

Model Natalia Vodianova attended Givency’s cocktail party in honour of singer Ciara wearing a look from Givency’s Spring 2010 collection.

I love this draping on her and the white lace shoulder detail adds such a nice contrast to the grey.

I’m not too massively keen on the black leggings and peep toe shoes but Natalia always has a great way of making any look her own.

To be honest, I’ve never really been a fan of  red lipstick with blue eyeshadow but when it comes to this supermodel, I’m willing to make an exception.

I love Natalia in Riccardo Tisci’s designs and she blew me away last year wearing a Givenchy Fall 2009 suit.
