Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Much Improved Award
We labeled Tina Fey the worst dressed at the Golden Globe Awards, but she totally redeemed herself tonight.

I was worried she would return to the safety of a simple black gown, but she instead opted for a Salvatore Ferragamo v-neck purple dress from the Fall 2009 collection.

Her jewels didn’t stand out as much as her Christian Louboutin Titi glitter and platinum specchio peep-toe pumps.

Thank God It’s Not Dior Award
As much as I love Dior and Marion Cotillard in Dior, I was thankful she opted for another designer tonight.

Last week several people picked the exact dress she was going to wear at the Globes, which just highlighted the fact that she was becoming too predictable.

I LOVED her in this Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture draped one shoulder white mini dress.

I adore the embellishment plus the floral appliqué detail at the hem of the dress.

Her dress was paired with the runway heels and Chopard jewels.

Oh So Pretty Award
“True Blood” Deborah Ann Woll looked really pretty wearing a Gustavo Cadile Resort 2010 pale blue lace and chiffon tiered gown.

Had the colour been any lighter it may have washed her out, but I think she does well at her first major red carpet event.

Her eye make-up complemented her stunning gown, as did her blue Swarovski crystal Kiosque clutch.

Most Surprising Award
I never expected to see the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 collection much on the red carpet, let alone a major event like the SAG Awards, but it was a pleasant surprise.

I can imagine Joan Rivers slating this dress on E! Fashion Police next week, but she would never ‘get’ this look.

I personally can’t get enough of her sexy reptile print mini which she pairs with black and gold trimmed Pierre Hardy platform sandals.

Anna’s become the dark horse of awards season.

I’ve spent my time looking out for Carey Mulligan, when it Anna who’s making all the waves.

Do you approve of this edgy look on the SAGs red carpet?

Better On The Red Carpet Award
Kate Hudson is wearing me out as she looks outstanding wearing this Emilio Pucci Spring 2010 gown.

I love it when Kate gives us sexy glam.

Her white backless gown with crystal embellishments on the hip is so much less bridal than her Golden Globes gown from last week.

Not many can out do Natasha Poly, but I think Kate does.

Her hair is elegantly coiffed and her jewels are stunning.

Yet Another Re-Run/J’Adore Award

I’m already preferring the red carpet looks from the SAG Awards in comparison to Globes.

Meryl Streep gave me my first sharp intake of breath of the night wearing a Balenciaga satin print gown from the Fall 2009 collection.

This was unfortunately another re-run as Salma Hayek wore this gown to the 33rd Annual Cairo International Film Festival last year, but that takes nothing away from how fabulous Meryl looks.

She accessorized her look with a black leather belt and a black clutch.

Definitely one of the best of the night.
