Grammy Awards “Salute To Icons Honoring Doug Morris” Clive Davis Event – Taylor Swift In Collette Dinnigan

Dear Taylor Swift,

I think you looked great at the “Salute to Icons Honoring Doug Morris” event last night.

I love that fact that you love to sparkle on the red carpet. If I was a teen singing sensation I would want to do the same.

The trouble is my readers have been expressing how tired they’ve grown with the heavily embellished dresses you wear for nearly every red carpet appearance, and I’m afraid I’ve got to the point were I’m now joining them in their frustration.

This Collette Dinnigan dress is nothing we haven’t seen on you before. In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if we have seen this on you before.

We – my readers and I – would be happy to see you take a different route for the main event at the Grammy’s tonight.

Let’s ditch those gold heels and the embellished dresses for something new and original.

Best,

Fashion Critic xxx

  2. wilwarin January 31, 2010 at 16:07 #

taylor we’ve seen this kind of look on you for like 1000 times now.. it’s getting boring…
anyways i wish that sometimes she comes without her curls… i’ve seen picture of her with hair straight and she looks great… i woud like to see that on her on redcarpets too.

  3. mette January 31, 2010 at 16:10 #

BOOOOORING. This dress is sooo borring and Taylor is soo boring – the hair, the dress, the make-up, the shoes. And FC i will sign your letter tooo

  5. robbie January 31, 2010 at 16:23 #

i love her and she always looks beautiful but i agree something new and exciting would be great.

  6. Linda January 31, 2010 at 16:24 #

    FC, THANK YOU!

yes… and the other thing that bothers me is that she almost explodes by self-conceit, her eyes say: “Nobody can do better that me” – but, Taylor, you aren’t doing anything, just repeating yourself for the thousandth time.

Anyway her dress is similar to the Roberto Cavalli one which has been worn by Spice Girls members, Emma and Geri.

  8. justme January 31, 2010 at 16:54 #

    Where do I sign?
Also, she can stop with heavy eye make-up whenever she’s ready because it makes her already small eyes look even smaller.

I’m feeling the darker hair though.

oh no she did it again! she’s so boring !!

  10. Elise January 31, 2010 at 17:21 #

She is so boring, she always looks the same. I would love her to wear some color

  11. Shannon January 31, 2010 at 17:27 #

No denying she looks beautiful, because she is and I adore her. This dress would be adorable if it wasn’t a repeat of her past looks though… I think her stylist must have a thing about embellishments. I miss the days before she could afford bejewelled gowns… and, when it isn’t embellished, she’s either wearing red or black. I want to see her dress in something bright pink or blue or green or yellow or SOMETHING. Take a risk, Taylor! Still, anyone know where the dress is from?

    • Fashion Critic January 31, 2010 at 17:40 #

My guess is collette dinnigan, but I couldn’t find it to be sure

I’ve been wanting to see Taylor venture into something different for a long time now. She has an All-American beauty to her that would look good in so many things. Mix it up, Taylor!

    • Rosie February 1, 2010 at 16:58 #

I know! And with her tall, slim, modelesque body she could probably pull anything off

  13. Crazyfashionaddict January 31, 2010 at 18:23 #

LOL lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol…Really F.C ? Let’s call Kanye , he definitely won’t be afraid to give her your letter? He might even be generous and give one to Amber as well.

  14. Elena January 31, 2010 at 18:44 #

    I love the dress though.
but yeah i agree she has to try something different. :)

btw is she wearing the same heels as Katy Perry?

    • Fashion Critic January 31, 2010 at 19:05 #

      ha so they are.

  15. Chiara January 31, 2010 at 18:54 #

I was thinking about this when I commented on Carrie Underwood’s post… About how her and Taylor Swift always stick to the same kind of dresses… Of course it fits them well but I wish they would experiment more.. They’re both so young, it’s time to do so!

  16. FashionLover January 31, 2010 at 21:25 #

maybe its a thing for young country artists to go all blingy..R&B used to be blingy, but now its going towards the edgy route…
How amazing would it be if Taylor swift came to the grammys wearing that Elie Saab slit up till there dress we saw a few days back on the runway…lol kidding but seriously I’m hoping she wears something constructed and architectural

  17. Christina January 31, 2010 at 21:45 #

I have no doubt in my mind she will wear embellishments to the Grammys tonight.

  18. Thomas Monks January 31, 2010 at 23:09 #

JustJared reports that Taylor is wearing a Colette Dinniagn dress

    • Fashion Critic January 31, 2010 at 23:14 #

      I thought as much. Thanks

  19. Ally January 31, 2010 at 23:28 #

It is getting pretty boring, but at least she has picked something that looks good on her. It isn’t like we have a Leona-esque corset belt on our hands!

  20. Kimmy February 1, 2010 at 14:31 #

Why am I not surprised? I love you Taylor, but I’d love you even more if you’d be more “fashionable” beyond the pretty gowns and sparkles.

  21. Ksenia February 14, 2010 at 21:48 #

Another brick in the wall. But I love you Taylor.
