Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture

I’m really loving this Givenchy Spring 2010 Couture offering from Riccardo Tisci.

The twenty two looks were verging on the edgier side of couture, with disco-esque jumpsuits that look liked they just walked off the film set of “Saturday Night Fever”.

Tailoring was also out in full force with stunning black evening jackets with jet black velvet lapels.

I especially loved the white tuxedo jacket from which layers of black and white feathers cascaded.

Evening gowns were intense purples with bubble-like ruched hems and embellished bodices.

I also fell in lust with the black lace pieces, which added a touch of softer androgyny.

This collection undoubtedly brought the fun factor to the runway and I’m hoping to see at least one of these patterned jumpsuits on some of our braver red carpet ladies.

Watch this space.

Stunning! Please please please someone wear the top right look to the Oscars! Not sure who should wear it (any suggestions?) but it is to die for! Absolutely beautiful.

Eva Longoria? or the opposite in colours: Drew Barrymore?

That dress is literally to die for. As long as someone does it justice and wears it with the elegance it desreves, I don’t mind who wears it.

I agree (and with Rebecca) :D Eva would look fantastic! Hope whoever wears it gives the respect it deserves! Cate Blanchett? Anne Hathaway? Kate Hudson? Beyonce?

I agree Sophie, any of these patterened jumpsuits on the red carpet would be fun to see.

I LOVE the feathers. Reminds me of Rihanna’s Paule Ka ensemble which i also adored.

another note: they bring out the tailored lines (the straight against the fluttery)
