Sophie and I were really excited to see the Stephane Rolland Spring 2010 Couture presentation here in Paris for two reasons.
1. To witness stunning looks walk the runway.
2. To get a glimpse of Cheryl Cole in the front row.
Only one of our wishes came true.
Cheryl Cole is a huge fan of the French designer after she’s been pictured in five of his dresses. Most recently last week at the National Television Awards.
Unfortunately she wasn’t unable to show her support because of work commitments, but we probably wouldn’t have noticed her anyway because we were transfixed on the amazing pieces which were presented to us.
Cocktail dresses spattered with gold and blood red lacquer. Capes billowed as model stormed the runway.
Lean evening gowns had voluminous hems which moved so fluidly on the models.
It wasn’t only the hems that had volume. Hips did too with razor sharp-cut creating a sexy silhouette.
Everyone in the audience was mesmerized by the plexiglass embellishments which made us thing of fossils, especially on the plum gown above.
The pictures are not really doing the pictures justice in my opinion, as it was an amazing collection.

If you think this magnificent Stephane Rolland finale gown is stunning, view the video below to see how beautiful it is in motion, and the details which are totally lost in the picture.
The model needed 2 people to help her adjust the heavily embellished train as she turned.
The designer will be working on a ready-to-wear collection which is set to launch in 2011, along with a fragrances and a jewellery line.

Awesome coverage – u girlies should be front row!
What an amazing collection!
OMG. This is what high fashion should be. The details and the cuts are AMAZING! I can totally picture the great Tilda Swinton wearing the last dress on the first row (without the gloved part if they are indeed a part of the dress…)
Hopefully, someone will do these amazing outfits great justice for the awards season…
FINGERS CROSSED!!!
Everything was so Gorgeous. Love the little pockets on a few of the gowns. Yes the video was needed, the pictures dont do this collection justice.
I also like how the collection boasts of pieces which are soft and flowing and also hard and structured. What I love most about the final piece is that while it gives the illusion of hardness and structure, there is life and movement in the details as the model walks… <3
I can see Gwyneth and Jennifer Connelly both loving this collection, but I would really like to see Kate Beckinsale wearing something edgier and trying some of this…
I couldn’t agree more. Gwynie and Jennifer suit this collection
Stunning! THIS is how you do couture. I hope someone will be brave enough to wear them though since they aren’t your typical prom-esque awards show dresses.
Gorgeous dresses. Nice to see Celebs give little known designers coverage. Hope your enjoying Paris!
I want to see Tilda Swinton in that first one – the taupe cowlneck with the fabulous hem. And Cate Blancett in the embellished plum in the bottom right. Lovely movement on these things!
Exactly!! This is the first thing that came to my mid as well… Tilda on that first dress.
Wonderful juxtapositions and contrasts, exciting, new, everything couture should be!
Love the movemt in these incredible creations. Can’t help thinking that the first gown shown here looks very similar to the Atelier Versace one Marisa Tomei wore to the Oscars last year. Does anyone agree? (just the pleating?)
the last one makes the whole collection. this is so innovative and refreshing
