This is an incredibly long post, so please click ‘read more…’ below to see the rest of the looks from this amazingly well dressed event.
I was starting to lose hope that I would ever see this amazing Marchesa Fall 2009 dress on the red carpet.
Olivia Wilde has fulfilled my wish by looking drop-dead gorgeous wearing the strapless nude suede dress.
I love those embroidered floral details, the complementary taupe clutch and her nude Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ pumps.

I don’t know much about Amber Heard, but I’m really impressed with her on the red carpet and shocked that she always manages to wear such big name designers.
Last night she looked sensational wearing this red Christian Dior Spring 2010 belted gown with a chiffon bodice and a satin skirt.
Since Charlize Theron has been M.I.A. on the red carpet in a while, I guess John Galliano might have been looking for an interim muse.
It’s not often we see 3 great Dior Spring 2010 looks in the space of 2 days.
Miss Dior herself – Marion Cotillard wore Dior to the Critic’s Choice Awards on Friday, then Chloe Sevigny wore Dior to the NY Times Style Magazine’s Pre-Golden Globe Awards Party on Saturday.

It’s always a pleasure to see Camilla Belle on the red carpet.
The actress wore a grey Valentino Spring 2010 dress with a satin bow detail on the hip.
I love the way the cape and skirt fan out. It would’ve been amazing to watch this dress in motion.
I’m not sure about those stunning heels with the dress, but the heels are divine on their own.

On Friday I was worried that after Apphia Michael wore Viktor & Rolf to the Wallpaper Design Awards, that we would only get to see these pieces from this Spring 2010 collection inside magazines.
Anna Paquin delights us by wearing a strapless pink tulle dress with exaggerated hips.
She also blows my theory that only one of each look was ever made for this collection, as hers is pink to the runway’s grey and blue.
An Alexander McQueen knuckle duster clutch, Boucheron diamond studs, a Tom Binns necklace and black gladiator heels complete her look.

Rumer Willis opted for a fully lined version of this Christian Dior Spring 2010 gown with a leather bodice.
Something tells me this look would’ve looked better on her had it been way shorter.

Rachel Bilson continue to make Chanel look bland with her styling – or lack thereof.
This Spring 2009 dress is so cute.
I love the cap sleeves and the feathered details, but Rachel fails to inject any life into the dress.
Plus those YSL shoes feel to heavy for this dress.

Sorry Andrew, but your wish to see this blue Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 baby blue dress at the Golden Globes just officially died.
I love how Jamie King gave this look a fresh lease of life by wearing it without the runway accessories.
Her silver accessories are perfect with this look. They are complementary plus they don’t distract me from drooling over her dress.

As far as Nicole Richie is concerned boho chic is here to stay.
The mother of two looked gorgeous walking this red carpet wearing an Etro Spring 2010 multi-coloured paisley printed long sleeve wrap dress.

The Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2010 collection wasn’t my favourite from the French designer, but celebrities seem to love this collection.
First Rihanna, then Dita now Bryce Dallas Howard has worn a piece from his Spring 2010 collection.
I wouldn’t have considered this a red carpet worthy look, but I love the nude and the orange against Bryce’s pale skin.
I find it interesting because it doesn’t wash her out.

Katy Perry opted for a sexy white asymmetrical dress with a thigh-high split from Hussein Chalayan Spring 2010 collection.
Alexandre Birman nude heels and a purple shimmering Judith Leiber clutch complete the look.

I’m not a huge fan of lace gowns, but there’s no denying how beautiful Ashley Olsen gown is.
What would’ve made it work for me was if the dress was sleeveless without the yoke, and if she’d worn a lighter shade of lippie.

This is a rare sad day when I can look at Dita von Teese and say “me no likey”.
Her Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2005 Couture look is amazing on the runway, but I don’t like those floral sleeves on Dita.
I find them quite overwhelming on her.
Dita wore Boucheron jewels with her dress.

I love Rashida Jones’ Prada Resort 2010 gown.
I love the quirky print mixed with the sophisticated style of this stunning gown.

Sophia Bush gives us head-to-toe perfection wearing a Reem Acra Resort 2010 red gown with a sweetheart neckline.
This gown shows of her stunning curves making her one of the Best Dressed at this event.
A Judith Lieber clutch and stunning Loree Rodkin earrings complete her look.

Alicia Witt wore the same navy strapless fringed dress which Queen Latifah wore to the 2009 Grammy’s.
I love the dress, but I just wish she didn’t add those necklaces.

Vintage queen Marisa Tomei looked gorgeous wearing a strapless Traina Norell black and bubble-gum pink satin dress with detail hip bow from Decades inc.
Her look was paired with Boucheron jewels plus Casadei shoes.

Jessica Alba opted for a flirty red strapless mini Prada dress with a voluminous skirt.
She paired her dress with a stunning necklace, and black accessories.
I’m loving her new approach to the red carpet in 2010, it looks like mumsy Jessica is gone for good.

Jessica Szohr arrived with boyfriend Ed Westwick wearing a Kevan Hall embellished silk tulle illusion gown with plunging v-neckline and cascading ruffles on the skirt.

Kate Bosworth has been M.I.A. for a while, so it’s good to see her looking great wearing an Alexander McQueen slate grey strapless dress.
Which look was your favourite?

Camilla looks gorgeous also i love Kate`s McQueen so simply , so pretty
Its official
Im in love with Burberry Prorsum Spring 2010 Colletion
2010 started with a BANG! Wow, i’m honestly impressed how everyone really put a lot of effort. This is quite possibly the best red carpet i saw in the last couple of months.
Golden Globes better deliver!
I hope so.
I’m kinda worried that it may be disappointing as this event is SO good
As I was reading the post I thought the same thing!
Thanks for posting FC!!!
That´s why we love you!!!!
Thanks sweetie xxx
Wow, they are all looking so good.
Camilla Bell is amazing, the dress is cute but not with these heels.
Amber Heard dress is fantastic, I love the color.
Rumer Willis looks gorgeous but I prefer the dress on the runway.
Olivia Wilde, Jessica Alba, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anna Paquin are amazing.
I am disappointed by Dita Von Teese and Nicole Richie, I don’t like their dress.
Many lovely dresses, but Camilla Belle is spectacular.
Kate Bosworth looks amazing here! Definitley my favourite but closely followed by Jamie King. I adore Jessica Alba’s hair like this.
I’d say Kate Bosworth for BDOTW because it’s so simple and clean without being dull
Rumer’s gown has been worn before by Jessica Szohr at the MET Gala, who btw I love here.
thanks for your great work, FC!
You are very welcome
as ott as ashley look im totally enchanted by her. she made it work.
but seriously amazing red carpet event. ((:
Amber Heard, wowwww. BDOTW candidate for sure ! Though I bet there’s a few more you’re considering already eh
Sophia Bush BDOTW contender, please!
Sophia Bush looks AMAZING!!!
It gives her an amazing ‘Jessica Rabbit’ figure. SO glad that she is not conforming to the ‘VB size one’ figure. Love the earrings!!
oh my,im SO in love wth camilla belle and i think kate bosworth looked like goddess even if the dress were simple! olivia wild is cute and so beautiful like always.and,um,rummer willis-im feeling like she wants to be and look great, but it just dont work!and i totally agree with you about rachel bilson, she looks like some settled old lady !
+
i really like the viktor&rolf spring 2010 collection so anna paquin for me thumb up!
for now, golden globes must be jealous and ready to revenge ! nice post,FC!
Holy cow! Not sure what the GG’s can bring beyond this amazing event – I have a long list of favs: Olivia Wilde in Marchesa (I can’t believe I ever said I don’t like Marchesa!); Amber Heard, whom I didn’t like in McQueen the other day, absolutely blows me away in Dior; Camilla Belle, gorgeous shape that Valentino, even like her booties; Anna Paquin in Viktor & Rolf, proves they can be wearable; Bryce Dallas Howard in Gaultier; Jessica Alba; and last but not least, Ashley Olsen whose gown is incredible – the color could have washed her out, but the dark lippie makes her face pop so I’m ok with everything in her look. Yikes, it’s all so good!!!
Camilla Belle is a dream in that Valentino dress! I personally like her risky choice of footwear, it ups the ante.
Camilla Belle definitely took my breath away! I can’t handle myself whenever I see her in that dress. its way beyond fantastic!!
I also didnt know anything about Amber but she officially stole my heart with that Dior dress
Anna Paquin in one of my most fave spring 2010 collection is also surprising. just love love it!
and it’s so good to see a piece of burberry here
what a great great event!
I know what is the problem with Dita von Teese’s Dior gown – the shoulders are not as peaky as on the runway and somehow it doesn’t have that medieval noble-esque look. Maybe the hair should have been done somehow else.
i might be the only one but i really don’t care for kate bosworth much. most of the time she looks really dull to me and she’s always sporting the same lifeless hair…
i really loved ahsley olsen’s look. it has a nice 1900s vibe and i love those type of dresses
camilla belle also looks great and the dress is so lovely but i can’t get on board with those shoes (even with a different outfit)
Haha wow we don’t need any more events this week, I would consider Olivia Wilde, Camilla Belle, Anna Paquin, Sophia Bush, Jessica Albla and Kate Bosworth all BDOTW worthy!!!
I agree Rachel Bilson’s shoes are too heavy for the dress, but I do like what she did with her make-up, hair and earrings..
Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr are so cute together!
Amber Heard, no idea who she is, but she looks absolutely stunning..
Rashida and DvT probably the next best looks there. Kate Bosworth’s grey is just blaaah, feels like the dress equivalent of beige…
Love velvet dresses like DvT’s, I would love to find a decent high street one, something along the lines of Marc Jacob’s Fall 08 velvet dresses..
Mi favs are Jessica Alba (the necklace makes the difference), Jessica Szohr and Katy Perry, but Olivia Wilde is the absolute winner! I don’t like Camilla Belle instead… I’m not a huge fan of Valentino’s s/s 2010. And seems that Ashley Olsen tried to be quite “gothic”, a ghost or something like that… Her lipstick reminds me of Taylor Momsen.
Ashley Olsen’s dress is from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2006 collection. One of the best dresses ever!
thanks so much. This is a great id
This is my favourite Alexander McQueen dress ever. I couldn’t skip the id
I love this dress. It is so gorgeous. And I have to disagree with you on this. I love the lippie! I’m a dark lippie person and I LOVE this with the dress ♥♥♥
amber heard, jessica alba, kate bosworth is loved. they look stunning. i love kate bosworth’s minimalist look. olivia wilde’s dress is exquisite.
and i adore ashley olsen for doing her own thing.
her dress is AMAZING. gosh. im spoilt for choices.
not so into camilla belle’s outfit though. perhaps it’ll grow on me, but not for now :S
nonetheless, this is one of the most stylist events in a while! [excluding the asian red carpets]
thanks for posting
olivia wilde-camille belle and marisa tomei AMAAAAAZING!!! love that marisa t. always wears vintage!
Oh, Camilla!!
I’m very glad she has worn a Valentino SS’10 dress – I absolutely love this collection.
Ashley seems to be too short for this dress(
Firs I have to say that I’m a big fan of Anna Paquin but she use to let me down in the red carpet. Dont get me wrong, she is always OK but she use to wear everytime simple dreses in black, blue and sometimes white. So imagine my shock when i saw her wearing a piece of one of the most eccentric collection of the season. I’m beyond words because this is what i’ve always wished, a daring dress in which she can shine. This is all I have to say: this is her best red carpet ever!!!
P.S: her clutch is the Alexander McQueen Knuckle Duster Clutch
thanks…good eye
I had the same thoughts when I saw the dress she wore. I’m a big fan of Anna as an actress, I actually like her style on the red carpet but she’s never been a risk-taker. This time she left me speechless.
I love how the event matches with the name of the event cuz this is a red carpet HEAVEN! I am hopeful for the golden globes but I’m positively sure that it won’t be able to top this event.
Amber, Olivia, Camilla and Katy are all perfection head to toe. I’m in love with Hussein Chalayan’s collection so I’m glad someone other than Rihanna wore him to red carpet.
If I have to choose a favorite, I’m going with Ashley Olsen. I love everything about her look, The hair, the make-up, the clutch and the dress! It’s one of the most incredible gowns I have ever seen and she pulls it off gracefully.
total heaven…in agreement with that
Katy Perry’s shoes and clutch are Alexandre Birman heels and a Judith Leiber clutch.
hey sweets thanks
Your welcome
This is one of the best looking Red Carpet in weeks! I agree with everyone else the Globes better deliver.
OMG. I love almost every dress!
It’s hard to pick a favorite. I’m torn between Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Olivia Wilde and Sophia Bush.
I even like Camilla Belle’s dress, usually I don’t like what she wears.
I’m not sure about Dita, she had better looks but I don’t hate it. I don’t think I can ever hate Dita.
Olivia Wilde is flawless!
From the make-up to the shoes, she’s definitely my favourite. I know it’s still Sunday lol but BDOTW contender or what? lol
Camilla Belle looks great too. I agree about the shoes though FC.
I’m gonna have to do a poll for this event today as they could all be BDOTW
The Burberry collection takes my breath away every time I see it. It’s so.. amazing.
Katy Perry, Olivia Wilde and Jessica Alba: My favourites!
And sorry Jessica, but I only had eyes for Ed, so I didn’t pay attention to your dres hahahaha
xoxo!
That dress on Rumer was already worn by Jessica Szohr on The Model as Muse Embodying Fashion Costume Institute Gala in 2009
olivia and c amille are my favs
such a well dressed event
Olivia is my first choice, but im finding it hard to choose my second fave, all the ladies delivered very well, im loving Marissa & Ashley’s vintage approach, Anna & Jamie’s fashion-forward dresses, Amber & Camille hollywood glamour .. they all look very lovely!
Thanks FC ..
very welcome
It’s official – Camilla Belle can pull off virtually any look and make it soar.
Jessica Szohr is drop-dead gorgeous in that photo by herself. The makeup and hair are perfect.
Olivia Wilde does WAY more justice to that beautiful Marchesa than the bland model does.
So sad that Dita couldn’t make that JPG gown sing as it did on the runway, because it is so unusual and spectacular that it would have been great to see it worked in real life.
I agree about Olivia. She totally brings the dress to life in a way the model didn’t
Ashley and Dita are my favourites. But I loved Camillas dress too, shame about the shoes!
Where is Rinko Kikuchi in Chanel HC?
never saw a picture of her
just looked again and none of the agencies I used have a picture of her
Olivia Wilde looks heavenly. I love that Amber didn’t line the top of the dress as many tend to do. I knew when I saw Camilla’s dress on Just Jared that you were gonna love it. It’s gorgeous.
Anna’s pink version looks better on the red carpet than I think the runway version would’ve. Rumer looks way too gothic gladiator to me. There’s no wow in Rachel Bilson’s look. I love the Burberry dress without the belt as Jamie wore it. It gives it a lighter feel.
I think Nicole’s dress is a little too literal on “Boho Chic.” I’ve seen her look better. On the runway, I thought I’d hate that Gaultier piece on the carpet. But I kinda dig it on Bryce. The elegance of Katy’s look is beautiful while still maintaining sex appeal.
Ashley’s dress is beautiful and a lot better than some of her looks. But I’d really like to see the Olsen twins in something that doesn’t look like it’s swallowing them.
The problem with Dita’s look is the floral. Take that off and the look is very Dita Chic. But as is, it’s more Lady
Gaga to me. I love elegant prints on the carpet, so I’m liking Rashida’s look.
When I saw Sophia’s look, I knew she’d be my fave. She looks ravishing. And I give her props for having the dress fit to where it doesn’t look like her boobs are squashing. That tends to happen with dresses like this, and I’m glad she took the time to get the look right.
I love the color of Alicia’s dress. Not many people could work Marisa’s look as fabulously as she does. I like how Jessica Alba’s dress stands out without screaming for attention.
I like Jessica Szohr’s look, but her posing on the left is a little too “Blake Lively” for such a goddessy dress. But her boyfriend is all kinds of yum in his suit. Kate’s body is great, but I wish the dress had a little more detail to it.
Sophia and Amber were my favorite looks.
LOL….I got a Blake Lively feeling from Jessica’s pose too.
Amber Heard, Jessica Alba, & Olivia Wilde were my favorites. I also really liked Kirsten Dunst & Ali Larter I’m surprised you didn’t feature either one of them….
It’s impossible to feature everyone and it’s impossible to please everyone.
I’ve tried that and I still get complaints, so I feature those I want to feature. Those who are engaging enough for me to want to write about them.
Also the more people I post the more money it costs me. Pictures have to be paid for.
this event was soooo glamorous,i’m glad, because i was starting to miss some great fashion on the red carpet.but i thing you have some great missing and those ladies were great dressed too-genna dewan, molly simps, dianna argon, lindsay lohan, ali larter, amy smart!!!!especialy in my oppionion genna dewan and amy smart.
I literally gasped out loud when I saw Olivia Wilde– she is breathtaking!
And I have to give props to Camilla Belle! She is the first person I have seen who wore one of these structured dresses that didn’t get smashed down in the ride to the event!!!
good point about Camilla’s dress.
normally the structure is lost on the red carpet.
thanks Lusinda
Hey guys!
I am officially convinced that Camilla Belle could make a trash bag look stunning. She can do no wrong. She is always fabulous, and it’s getting INSANE. She might even be the most gorgeous women to walk the Earth.
Thanks FC! You’re the best. Let’s hope the Golden Globes bring us amazingness as this event did.
thanks Jake.
Fingers double crossed for tonight.
And I agree about Camilla
the Dior dress on Rumer looks matronly and large to me, she should have gone after the showy look, as she has a nice body, or just choose a different dress
you have shown so many beautiful dresses. Sad that many of them look so pretty on the red carpet where the model are walkin, on movement. It’s a shame that the posed still pics do not do these dresses justice.
Ashley was the best dressed.
I love Marisa Tomei and her vintage dresses.
Sophia Bush looks like she’s going to her prom, as does Jessica Alba.
Amber also looks amazing.
WOOOW! Thanks for making this post!
I find it easier to point out the few styles I don’t like, than counting all the numerous dresses that I love!!
But Jamie King, Bryce Dallas Howard, Kate Bosworth, Camille Belle, Amber Heard and Rashida Jones are among the favourites.
OMG these ladies look amazing… Olivia Walde is exquisite, i just can’t take my eyes of her… Anna Paquin kind of surprised me, she looks amazing. I wish Rumer’s dress was shorter it would be really killer although i love it this way too, and i adore that Bryce’s dress, Ashley Olsen ‘s dress is divine minus the make up… well i must say all ladies are gorgeous and it would take forever to comment every single one of them
but my top 3 are Olivia Wilde, Anna Paquin and Bryce Dallas Howard.
i know that many of you will hate me, but i really hate camilla here. no no no. the dress is awesome but i think that isn’t good for her. it isn’t here style. someone else would have worn so much better than her.
i love love love jessica (alba), olivia, marisa and rachel.
I can’t even get over how well dressed this event was. Insane. And I’m watching the Globes right now and I have seen very few “bad” looks so far. There have to be a lot of really happy stylists/designers right now
.
Blonde doesn’t fit to Anna Paquin, she’s just there but nothing really excites me about her.
Rachel Bilson taste it’s one of my favorites!
and Jessica shines, from all this people she would be the first one would notice !
OH. MY. GOD.
Camilla Belle has just given me one of my favourite red carpet moments EVER.
There aren’t enough words to convey just how extraordinary she looks in her Valentino emsemble and just how perfectly she encapsulates the spirit of this collection.
Perfection.
I was at this amazing event and just wanted to say that Camilla blew me away! Even more gorgeous in real life if you can imagine and that dress was phenomenal!
So damn jealous! It really is an extraordinary creation.
So hot ……..!
My fav looks here are Olivia (although I’m not the one to go crazy over Marchesa), Camilla, Anna (I wish she was bold enough to go for the runway colors, but I love it anyway), Jamie, Ashley (sleeves and the yoke is what makes this dress for me), Marisa (wow! so interesting!) and Jessica Alba is cute, too.
Boring award goes to: Katy, Sophia, Jessica Szohr and Kate (I always expect her to wow me with fashion forward choices. this was boring to tears.)
Interesting looks (although I can’t decide for good or for bad): Amber, Bryce and Rashida.
How about ridiculous: Rumer and Dita.
Nicole looks almost identical to my mother when she was pregnant in 1982. LMAO Something about her face and that dress. I don’t know…
wowww, i loved reading this entry. i pretty much loved everyone except dita. faves i can think of right now: olivia, jessica alba, rumer willis, nicole richie, camilla belle, anna paquin..
I love Amber Heard, Olivia and Camilla Belle.. but my fave would have to be Amber’s.. i first read this post a few days ago.. and I had to go back and have a second, third, fourth look at her!
Best dressed event of the year!
FC, you didn’t feature her here, but I was wondering do you have any idea who was Kirsten Dunst’s dress by? It’s one of those black-but-not-boring looks, and it has a very interesting back, too. It reminds me of Thakoon or maybe Miu Miu. But I don’t wanna talk out of my ass. LOL

Sorry I don’t know. I really didn’t like it though
