Poor Sophie sitting next to me just had the fright of her life when I shrieked “OMG” just now.
My outburst came from looking at this picture of Lily Cole wearing an Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 reptile dress to “The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus” Tokyo premiere.
Whilst Olivia Wilde is picking the consumer friendly pieces from this collection, Lily opted for this bold mini dress that screams “Look At Me”.
Lily is the perfect person to wear this reptile dress, she has beautifully strange features plus her legs go one for days.
Red strappy Jimmy Choo “Keenan” sandals are worn instead of the impossible to wear Armadillo heels.
My only bug-bear about this look is that she would have looked amazing with her hair pulled tightly back. Seeing the full shape of her face would’ve added to the overall drama of this look.
Do you love it?

incredible! j’adore! she’s up for bdotw right?
Of course
I absolutely agree about the hair being pulled back. My only wish is that she had zipped up the front, as seen on the model in the show.
I have to disagree – i actually adore the fact that she let the hair down, for me my eye zoned in on the gobsmackingly awesome way that her hair fall in exactly the area of the dress that matches her hair colour, i love love love that! trop bon!
I love it! Love her hair color with the dress also. The shape of the skirt looks different from the runway look. It is probably that little man with his arms around her squishing it.
OMG
im totally love this look
She looks amazing. Like a geisha from outer space — perfect for Tokyo!
What a wonderful week it has been.
i don’t like something about it….probably the angle of the picture…it really underlines her height….
this is one of the best pieces from mcqueen show
and i am happy that someone like lily wore it
she looks amazing but your r right hairs pull back would be better
I love the look just how it is, the unzipped front stops it from looking too frumpy and it’s a bit more relaxed, and her hair down blends pretty good with the tints of orange on the top of the dress
i love it.
I absolutely love everything about it, her hair the dress, the shoes..
I know this has been a very hectic week full of beautifully dressed women, but can she please be on the bdotw list??
Absolutely. She’s one definite.
I like it with the hair like that, because you can find some of its color on the dress also, so it’s not really hiding anything… It goes well together.
OMG! She looks amazing!
And I think that even if her hair is not pulled back, she still looks amazing. For me, both ways work.
She looks like a candidate for the “don’t show-cha your chocha” feature on Winona’s blog.
I will add to the love expressed here, just wish that guy squishing her skirt could be zapped outta the picture!
wow… all i have to say and i want those shoes… voting on BDOTW will be really tuff because there are so many great looks this week…
ooooh i love it!! you’re right about the hair though.
The don’t mind the hair, the shoes however…
I must be the only one who doesn’t like that look.
The dress was amazing on the catwalk, but I don’t like it on her
I am with you.
I’m not too blown away by it. I think something about the long sleeves is bothering me; it’s just a lot to take in with all the colors and patterns. Maybe I’d like it more as a sleeveless or strapless mini.
wow. just wow. she looks phenomenal! i’m in awe.
those legs!!! OMG!!! is it even possible to look THAT incredible?
she looks even more like an Alien
