As much as I love the dress and her in the dress from the hem up, I can’t help but wish she saved this for sunny LA red carpet event.

That suede clutch seems like an odd choice, but I like it.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is probably the only one who can wear a Lanvin dress with ankle boots and get away with it, such is her quirky sense of style.
I adore the rich bordeaux colour of her draped Lanvin dress with hook-eye closure at collarbone.
A hint of rouge on the lips is all the accessory she needed.
Vera Farmiga dazzled in a Dolce & Gabbana black rouched cocktail dress with sequin detail.

I wish the left side of Maggie’s dress mirrored the right side. I love the neckline on the right, but then the left feels heavey. And the bunched fabric on th left feels out of place. The color is wonderful on her though.
Anna looks stunning from the shoulders up; not so much from the shoulders down. It is just too ruffly and definitely should not have been worn with black tights.
Why would someone ever wear a soft and sweet dress with black tights and black shoes ? Just…WHY?

Don’t mind the tights on Anna, all four women hit my sweet spot, can’t explain it, but they just seem clarified and right, and not worth quibbling about, even the quirky details like black tights with pink frills…..perhaps not BDOTW worthy (Carey maybe), but just a pleasure to see them.
i think anna ruins the dress with the tights.donno how cold it is in the states (in europe it is freezingly cold) but i would have at least worn see-through tights

Anna, gorgeous dress and stunning, stunning ring but then those tights…oh well. Carey is chic as usual and I’m in lust with her shoes. Only Maggie could get away with such an unusual look and Vera looks great…I actually don’t mind the tights on her. Oh and FC is there a limit to how many BDOTW contenders you can have? Because if there is you may go over it!
i was going to keep it at only 8 this year to make them more interesting as there is always a run away leader, but I think it will be more this week
Okay. And here I was thinking that the Sherlock Holmes Berlin premiere would be my best dressed event of the week. After seeing this entry, not so. All four women look so fabulously chic and understated.
Carey Mulligan was my favourite break-out red carpet star of the year last year and I cannot wait to see what she pulls out for the Globes, SAGs and Oscars. Prada doesn’t really do awards show dresses as easily as other labels do so I await her appearances with interest. At the moment, Carey can do no wrong for me.
I love Vera’s hair, and dress! I cant wait for the Critics Choice awards and the Golden Globes!!!
I think somehow that even without the tights, the dress is too “big” for Anna Kendrick. Maggie and Vera have always reminded me of each other, even though there is no real physical resemblance
