Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: December 2009

It’s been a while since we last saw Keira Knightley on the red carpet, but nothing appears to have changed because she still loves Chanel.

At “The Misanthrope” play after party in London last week she wore a Chanel Fall 2009 Couture black sequin dress with a rosette detail, paired with tights and Chanel pearl accented heels.

Like most others excluding Kate Hudson, Keira opted out of the train, or mullet as some of you have coined this look.

I prefer this modification on this occasion, but I think we will have to access this on a case by case bases as I think it worked in Kate’s favour last week.

Another chic look from the pouty Keira

Last year’s X Factor winner Alexandra Burke first wore this Lipsy fringe detail dress to “Capital FM’s Jingle Bell Ball” in London on 6th December.

I must say I love her hair. The blunt fringe really suits this look.

And then she ruins it with the ankle boots *sigh*.

This dress gives Alexandra a really nice shape but I wish she’d worn something a bit more festive.

X Factor contender Rachel Adedji then wore this dress last week to “Capital Rocks” in London.

Where to start? Those boots? If you insist on wearing boots on the red carpet at least wear some that fit.

Rachel’s boots are baggy around her legs, which makes this look sloppy and badly put together.

I’m not crazy about the earrings either and in fact think that both girls are lacking some much needed accessories.

Alexandra wins this round for me, although I’m not blown away by either.

Despite comments like “Boobs or legs. Pick one Blake”. The Gossip Girl actress still won the Best Dressed poll this week.

Like you we were floored by Blake who upstaged Rachel McAdams at her “Sherlock Holmes” New York premiere.

Blake’s hair, make-up and my oh my that barely there Dolce & Gabbana dress was just spectacular.

I agree with majority who said “if I had a body like hers, I’d probably want to show it off too.”

I fell in love with British actress Kelly Reilly this week.

She was stunning wearing a peach silk chiffon Alberta Ferretti embroidered gown.

Even the rain couldn’t dampen her spirit. She still looked amazing wearing my favourite gown from Alberta Ferretti’s Spring 2010 collection.

Diane Kruger, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Demi Moore and Sarah Jessica Parker all wore Chanel creations this week.

Diane Kruger continued her love affair with this label. SJP picked a cute look for a TV appearance whilst Demi Moore was dressed in a gorgeous soft nude dress for a shoot with Harper’s Bazaar.

Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz wore Chanel Couture to the “Nine” New York premiere.

Kate wore a Fall 2009 Couture gown, whilst Pen wore red satin dress Chanel 1989 Haute Couture gown which was chosen for her by Karl Lagerfeld from the Chanel Conservatoire.

What a lucky lady, she looks divine in red. My favourite Chanel look of the week.

The Chanel Fall 2009 Couture collection was full of dresses with trains, whereas the Chanel Spring 2010 collection was full of gorgeous textures like lace and sheer layers.

Was anyone else shocked that none of the ladies opted for the Spring 2010 Chanel clogs?
