Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: December 2009

This is what redemption looks like.

12 hours after the disappointing us at the “Inglourious Basterds” DVD Launch, Diane Kruger totally redeems herself like only she can.

This morning in LA the nominations were announced for the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards.

Diane looked gorgeous wearing another Chanel Spring 2010 dress sans bag.

I love her boucle dress with a pretty pink floral trim and a voluminous skirt.

Her favourite Christian Louboutin peep-toes and a wavy updo completed her look.

Phew…and there was me thinking Diane was going to end 2009 on a downer.

Oh and please check out the picture of Clark Kent…I mean Justin Timberlake below.  Looks like him and Jessica Biel both need their sexy back.

Last night Diane Kruger was attended the “Inglourious Basterds” DVD Launch in LA with long-time beau Joshua Jackson.

Diane Kruger looks so very cute in her Chanel Spring 2010 ivory mini dress with rosette details going across the waist.

I love the marcel waves, the bold red lips, but the way she’s carrying her bag is not working for me.

The only thing that should be carried on the red carpet is a clutch, confidence and style.

Unfortunately Diane chose to wear her bag with the chain going across her body, thus throwing me off the look.

I wish she would’ve either worn it on one shoulder or wrapped the chain around her wrist. Anything else would’ve worked for me.

Yes I’m a fussy old girl, but I’m I alone here?

As much as I love Rachel McAdams’ Andrew GN Spring 2010 slate grey gown with embellished panels, I’m not in love with the Victorian hairstyle.

The style maybe classic to some, but for me it ages Rachel a little bit.

My blogging buddy Sophie doesn’t agree, and I’m sure many of you won’t agree with me either.

Her gown however is BDOTW worthy.

I’m totally in love with Kelly Reilly’s chiffon nude Alberta Ferretti Spring 2010 gown, which unfortunately got soaked by our Great British weather.

This gown was my favourite from that collection, so I’m happy to see it worn so beautifully on the red carpet.

Another worthy contender, and my favourite on this post.

Heather Graham opted for something younger and sexier.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw Heather wearing her L’Wren Scott ivory polka-dot dress with Christian Louboutin ivory enguille ankle boots was Sarah Jessica Parker.

The reason is because SJP wore a very similar look – in fact she wore the same boots -to the 2008 MTV Movie Awards.

I’ve got a thing for big wild hair at the moment, so I adore Heather tresses.

Unlike Rachel, Heather didn’t brave the cold for long, as she covered up with a black L’Wren Scott cape to keep her warm.

The Top 10 will be announced on 22nd December.

On Saturday night before the X Factor final on ITV, we got see more of Cheryl Cole on her one-off show “Cheryl’s Night In”.

She was still fighting for this love wearing her favourite Alexander Wang boots, she’d worn in her first performance on the X Factor a few weeks ago.

This time she swapped the military outfit for a pink ninja-style look.

My favourite look of the show as when Cheryl perform “3 Words” a duet with Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.I.Am.

She looked stunning wearing a her 3rd look from the Stéphane Rolland Fall 2009 Couture collection this year.

This black gown with a sheer yoke had a dramatic train which Cheryl used to full effect during her performance.

Last season Cheryl wore a pink Krystof Strozyna dress on the X Factor, so it wasn’t a surprise to see her wearing the same designer again.

Whilst Cheryl was being interviewed by Holly Willoughby wearing a teal Temperley London gown, Cheryl glowed in an orange and black Krystof Strozyna Spring 2010 pencil dress.

This digital print dress has geometric fabric panels which I absolutely loved.

Love her or loathe her, she’s given us some interesting fashion choices this year.

Alexandra Burke has worn many Emilio Pucci pieces.

When she performed her hit single “Bad Boys” on “Cheryl’s Night In”, she wore an exclusive ‘one-of-a-kind’ outfit designed by Emilio Pucci’s Creative Director Peter Dundas.

The white two piece was covered in studded eagle motif, which sparkled as she performed her energetic dance routine.

A big wow for Alexandra who after one year in showbiz already has big name designers making looks especially for her.

From your comments last week, I could tell that this was going to be a tough decision for all of us.

Blake Lively wore this Victoria Beckham peplum dress to the 2009 Angel Ball with Calypso heels back in October.

She looked stunning as she gave us her best ‘head slightly hilted to one side’ pose we’ve all come to recognise as her trademark.

Victoria was spotted leaving her hotel in Paris last week wearing the same dress.

She was without her trademark sunglasses, but of course she doesn’t step out without one of her many pairs of Trib Two heels.

Both women are rockin’ the hell out of this dress, and I’ve agonised over this for about 20 minutes now.

As much as I want to vote for Blake, Victoria totally owns this look – as she should.
