Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: December 2009

All these Awards nominations are getting me very excited about Awards season next year.

Earlier this week we saw Diane Kruger present the nominations for the Golden Globes in Chanel, today we have Michelle Monaghan wearing J.Mendel to present the nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The beautiful actress glowed in her butterscotch one-shoulder dress, which she paired with Brian Atwood nude patent leather Zenith pumps.

I just love the folded details which starts on her shoulder and works it ways down her bodice then fans out on her skirt.

What a great week for fashion.

LOVE this look, and I just adore the colour on her.

When it comes to complementing their hair colour these ladies have hit the nail right on the (red) head.

All you flame haired ladies take note: A green dress is the way to go.

Isla Fisher started this trend when she wore a Monique Lhuillier emerald corset dress to the 2007 Oscars.

Amy Adams must have had a style crush because she copied this look to the 2008 Oscars when she wore a Proenza Schouler gown.

FC picked up on this and awarded her the DeJa Vu Award.

She obviously knew that Isla was on to a good thing.

Julianne Moore is another red head that knows what colours suit her. Twice in September we saw her in this colour and she dazzled us both times.

Even Katherine Hiegl, the honorary red head knew how to work her new hair colour in a Naeem Khan sequined one shoulder dress.

And you all agreed how well she worked this dress in a recent “Who Wore It Better” poll.

I love all these looks and it’s really difficult to choose a favourite.

I think that Nicola Roberts was a complete knock out in her Issa Silk Jersey Gown though.

Oops. We’ve forgot about Marica Cross at the 2005 Emmy’s. Thanks Dana.

What was your favourite look?

This week Demi Moore struck several poses for photographer Mark Seliger at a photo shoot for an upcoming issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

I love the delicate nude Chanel Spring 2010 tulle dress she’s wearing, with the gold criss cross details.

What I do wish for is a new hairstyle for Demi.

Yes she has beautiful hair, but would it hurt so see something new once in a while? Especially for an editorial.

Barring 2 events this year we’ve always seen the same style from Demi.

Demi later changed into 2 more looks. One blue dress and one red strapless dress which I think is by Monique Lhuiller.

Super star stylist Rachel Zoe was also on set.

I’m really appreciating all the love for the Chanel Spring 2010 collection recently.

Do you hear that?

That’s that sound of another ball being knocked out of the fashion ball park by Zoe Saldana.

I’m love her Versace Spring 2010 mini chain dress more than the runway version.

The white feels more modern in comparison, plus her dress fits her better than the model.

I like that she opted for Brian Atwood gold “Maniac” pumps, instead of the Spring 2010 Versace heels which are Shakira’s current obsession.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. What a fantastic year she’s having.

Audrina Patridge was my second favourite on this red carpet.

Her sea green Rue du Mail Spring 2010 ensemble is very sophisticated for The Hills star and I especially love the yellow Prada clutch and Alexander McQueen silver heels she paired with this look.

I must say I’m shocked that Audrina is channeling this brand, but she totally rocks it.

Michelle Rodriguez’ hair is way out of control for my liking, but the fact that she’s wearing a pretty Ina Soltani gown which looks gorgeous against her olive skin is enough for me.

Baby steps.

Sigourney Weaver walked the red carpet wearing a stunning black sequin wrap dress with white strappy sandals.

She used to occasion to promote her Life magazine cover.

So very elegant.

I make that two for two for Leona Lewis.

This is a hopeful sign that her corset days are firmly behind her.

This heavily embellished silver gown is very Beyonce circa 2004, but I like it.

We saw these studded killer heels during Givenchy’s Fall 2009 presentation, and now Aldo have created their own studded spin off.

Both pairs are similar with the same zip design and stud detail.

The Aldo Guerrette studded peep-toes are a fabulous High Street version of the Givenchy shoe and the only real difference is the lack of studs on the heel.

The Givenchy studded heel is still available to purchase, but only in black from Luisa via Roma.
